# BASHO IMPROVEMENTS

have read much going to be solved with this new era basho update.  
“ON-DISK STORAGE”: ram-constrained systems will be able to run nodes(…) and memory will not be longer a bottleneck on scalability.🤔 is this also going to solve the sync speed & time for lower ram & ssd machines​:man\_shrugging:🙄

This already happened in cardano-node 1.33.0.

There will be even more improvements with the next node version. IOG is work on improving memory usage and compression of large memory segments.
