LOS ANGELES, 11 DECEMBER 2019. The Cardano Foundation – in a bid to optimize community engagement and its strategic direction – has boosted its Community Management department by appointing J. Casey Monroe as the new Senior Community Engagement and Strategy Lead and Tiago Fernandes Serôdio as the new Community Project Manager, effective immediately.

These hires are a direct response to streamline the community management and is another stride towards the Foundation’s growth goal. Working in collaboration with the Global PR, Communication and Marketing department, Casey and Tiago will advise on diversifying and scaling the Cardano community.

Casey is the first Community Management team member based in the Americas and brings 12 years of experience building and running communities.

In his new role based in Los Angeles, United States, Casey will focus on implementing a community engagement and strategic direction plan to improve management, growth and diversification of the community, with a focus on adoption and use cases, and synergies between digital systems and real-world human behavior. He will also supervise the high-level organization of the Community Management team to optimize existing structure, streamline processes, information sharing and build a talent pipeline as well as continuous learning and development framework.

Prior to joining the Cardano Foundation, Casey, a native of the San Fernando Valley, California, held various senior community and content management positions at Toyota, Google, Zynga and Wowhead, where he built, grew and supported communities for more than a decade.

Nathan Kaiser, Chairperson of the Cardano Foundation, says:

"We have rapidly expanded our team this year and added more people than ever to manage communities. The next step is to streamline the Community Management function and optimize the organizational structure, engagement processes and project management to improve our interaction with the community, as well as diversify the profile of the community.

“The combination of Casey and Tiago’s skills and experiences will help the Cardano Foundation to enhance community management and pivot the focus towards adoption and use cases; thus, strengthen our position in the blockchain industry. Both Casey and Tiago will help us drive our values and continued transformation goals and bolster our talent strategy.”

Tiago is the first person in the Foundation to manage the Spanish-speaking communities in Latin America and Iberian Peninsula, as well as Portuguese-speaking regions in Africa*, Asia** and South America***.

In his new role based in Porto, Portugal, Tiago will focus on managing the Cardano Foundation’s flagship Ambassador Program and community-related projects. Among his immediate priorities will be rolling out the next phase of the Ambassadorship.

Before assuming his current position, Tiago, a native of Bahia, Brazil, held various community management, marketing, analytics and business development roles at Dash and elsewhere.

This year alone, the Cardano Foundation expanded its Community Management team to seven countries**** across the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe by bringing additional language skills***** in key areas, with more geographic diversification planned for 2020.

Watch greetings from Casey and Tiago!

Hi Tiago, warm welcome from Luxembourg!

We proudly have around 16% Portuguese people of a total of 614.000 multi-national citizens, by far the largest group of foreign citizens in Luxembourg, that’s about 83.000 from the Portuguese community. Most came here in the 70s to find basic jobs, but I must say, the younger generations are often highly skilled, speaking five to six languages!

Please don’t forget the Portuguese community in my country ! Especially, because we are a modern financial centre in Europe, a little bit like Malta or Switzerland.

It would be nice to have some IOHK or Cardano staff give a lecture at the University of Luxembourg https://wwwen.uni.lu

So you see, now you already got more work to do

(Sorry about that) Welcome !!!

Olá Daniel!

How right you are!

Worry not, we’re not excluding anyone. In fact quite the opposite, we’re all about inclusion.
You know how sometimes the more focused and concentrated you are on topic, the quicker
something really basic simply flies out of view? Well, that’s exactly what happened here when I
was discussing the global regions where the Portuguese and Spanish languages are used :see_no_evil:

The city of Paris alone has 2.5M Portuguese! We’ll fix this :upside_down_face:
(searching for facepalm meme…)

Are you affiliated with the University of Luxembourg in any way, or have contacts there?

EDIT: Well, the copy up there refers to official Portuguese speaking regions, so it is factually correct. Nevertheless let me reiterate that we it does not mean we (or I) won’t cater to every single Spanish and Portuguese speaking communities on planet Earth and beyond! :rocket: :rocket: :rocket:

Dear Tiago,

I am actually not directly affiliated with the university, but, I know 2 people who actually work there, one of them is an Ex-European Investment Bank agent who now lectures at the University, she is a nice person, her name is Helen Kavvadia, she is aware of bitcoin and crypto. Here’s her profile:

The other person I know is a guy I know for many years via the Taekwondo Club Vichten Luxembourg, his name is Serge Linckels, it seems he now longer is at the University but you could still contact him here is his profile:

I am not sure how to proceed further with this, but maybe you can take a look at the university site:

In any case,

thank you for your future work and your support for Cardano !

Best, Daniel

Welcome @CaseyMonroeCF and @Tiago_CF !!!
Great to have you onboard!

Great to know that Tiago will also support African communities! If I’m not wrong, in Portugal there is a Angolan community in a neighbor called Buraka

Hello everyone! Sorry I’m slow getting around to you all in here. I’ve had a great deal of learning and acclimation to do getting started with this team, so I’ve been busy and a little overwhelmed–but I’m delighted to be working with this team of CMs, and to have the opportunity to work with such a great community. I can’t wait to see what we can do together.
