Coinbase is giving away free XLM to US users. It’d be nice to have a course like this for Cardano/Ada to help drive adoption, knowledge and awareness.

Great initiative the education part.
But:
Who should be the donors of the free ADA in your opinion? 
The foundation. The foundation should allocate 5,000,000 Ada as part of a marketing/education effort to the first 100k participants or until all available Ada has been dispersed.
