There’s a nice podcast called “Software Engineering Daily”. The episode from March 26, 2018 was an interview with Ethan Buchman (CTO “Tendermint”) that I think was really interesting.
Up to 18:00 mark Ethan awesomely explains the history of cryptography, and what exactly led (and allowed) the scientific world to end up with bitcoin and everything that happens now.
That, I think, is the best part. After 18:00 he continues to explain the “Tendermint” project, which also may be interesting, but not as general and abstract as the first part.
