Daedulus 7.0.0 on Linux

Has anyone else had any issues installing the Daedulus 7.0.0 update on Linux (Ubuntu)?

The install crashes and asks me to contact technical support.

I tried deleting and reinstalling from the website (after checking signatures, etc) however the same thing keeps happening.

Any advice?

Yep… unless you need to run a full Cardano node (which will take up a lot of Gb of storage and a lot of RAM on your computer), it would be advisable to use a lightweight wallet software like Typhon or Etrnl, to manage your wallet :upside_down_face:.

Cheers. But I do like the in-wallet staking offered by Daedulus. But for some reason this version upgrade broke it somehow (at least on Linux).

The staking offered by Daedalus is in no way different than that offered by all the other wallet apps.

It is not a thing inside the wallet app! It just records your choice on the chain. And all of them can do and manage that.

Yep, the 7.0.0 release fails on most recent Linux versions. There is a GLIBC version mismatch.

People within IOG are on the case and there will be a new release within about 24 hours. My advice is the wait for the fix.

Thanks for that. Much obliged.

Oh cool. That’s great to know. I did not know that.

Will look at other options. Cheers!

There is now a Daedalus version 7.0.1 available on the standard download site.
