## Cardano’s Presence at Token2049 2026 Singapore - Recap

 ![TOKEN2049 Singapore Recap|autox295](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex023/uploads/cardano/original/3X/8/0/8078bb9fc4c3fe3723b996a47e7f8b4070656a37.jpeg)

With TOKEN2049 now behind us, it’s time to look back at what was a strong couple of days for Cardano in Singapore.

Thanks to Treasury funding approved by DReps, Cardano had a 108 m² booth bringing together more than 20 ecosystem projects. Over the two days, more than 2,000 visitors stopped by to explore what the ecosystem is building and hear the case for trust as blockchain’s defining advantage.

Missed some of the action? The Cardano X account shared a recap after each day, covering some of the highlights from the conference. Catch up with the[Day 1 recap](https://x.com/Cardano/status/2107872852015739139?s=20) and[Day 2 recap](https://x.com/Cardano/status/2108273235854823660?s=20). And if you want a closer look at what was happening at the booth, Cardano Ambassador Peter Bui also shared a[walkthrough on X](https://x.com/astroboysoup/status/2108146355533148477?s=20).

Of course, there was plenty happening beyond the booth, too. The Cardano Foundation co-organized a Rooftop UTXO Pitch Night with Draper Dragon, bringing together **90+ investors, nine teams, and more than 400 attendees** , with up to **$500,000 in funding** on the table. A pretty good mix of builders, investors, and ideas in one room! If you missed it, here’s a short MUST WATCH, high energy clip reflecting the highlights of the evening. [Click here to watch it](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88ONFhDlpU0).

And it wasn’t just us saying the booth had a great atmosphere. Patrick Tobler shared his take in a[post on X](https://x.com/Padierfind/status/2108898740782145918?s=20), describing it as the best booth at TOKEN2049, with a great location, plenty of energy, and visitors stopping by throughout the event.

Those are just a few highlights from a busy few days. Below are some of the notable announcements and developments that came out of TOKEN2049.

## Programmable Tokens (CIP-0113) Are Live on Cardano Mainnet

![Programmable Tokens (CIP-0113) Are Live on Cardano Mainnet|autox244](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex023/uploads/cardano/original/3X/8/7/873b90c7133d603d47d9cee45a6a7cd0db0cc23f.jpeg)

On October 7, the Cardano Foundation announced that CIP-0113, Cardano’s programmable token standard, was live on mainnet. It allows issuers of stablecoins, tokenized funds, bonds and other regulated assets to build compliance rules directly into tokens. These can include identity verification, KYC and AML checks, sanctions screening, transfer restrictions, and freeze or seizure controls. The rules are enforced by the ledger whenever a token is transferred, minted or burned, without requiring a hard fork. In short, compliance rules can travel with the asset instead of relying solely on external systems. [Read the launch announcement here](https://cardanofoundation.org/blog/programmable-tokens-cardano-mainnet)

The launch also brought recognition from the Swiss Capital Markets and Technology Association (CMTA), which considers CIP-0113 a smart-contract equivalent to its CMTAT framework for certification purposes. Support from ecosystem tools including [Eternl](https://x.com/eternlwallet), [GeroWallet](https://x.com/GeroWallet), [CardanoScan](https://x.com/cardanoscanio) and [BloxBean](https://x.com/BloxBean) also helps lay the groundwork for integrating programmable tokens into the tools people already use. [Curious the see what they all had to share about this launch?](https://x.com/Cardano_CF/status/2108512264701788198?s=20)

And there is already a real-world example. Veridian, the Foundation’s digital identity project, became an independent Swiss company, with its shares issued on-chain using CIP-0113. Veridian plans to seek strategic partners and investors in 2027. The two developments address complementary parts of the trust equation: programmable tokens can carry the rules governing an asset, while verifiable digital credentials can help establish who is behind a transaction. [Read the full announcement here](https://cardanofoundation.org/blog/veridian-spinout)

Want to dig into what this means for regulated assets on Cardano? Tune into the upcoming live Roundtable Talk: **“CIP-113: What Programmable Tokens Mean for Regulated Assets”** on October 29 . Details and the link to join can be found [here on Luma](https://luma.com/2pgyk1qq).

## Cardano Steals the Spotlight at TOKEN2049 Origins Hackathon

## ![Cardano Steals the Spotlight at TOKEN2049 Origins Hackatho|autox279](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex023/uploads/cardano/original/3X/8/4/84a93f146b2ea08bd3c77f8a98a9fc24023cbc84.jpeg)

Over 36 hours at the [TOKEN2049](https://x.com/token2049) Origins Hackathon in Singapore, around 200 builders worked on projects across several blockchain ecosystems. According to the[Cardano Foundation’s TOKEN2049 recap](https://cardanofoundation.org/blog/cardano-token2049), the overall winner came from the dedicated Cardano track, where developers were challenged to build for the emerging agentic economy using x402. Around 130 of the 200 developers submitted projects to the Cardano track, either exclusively or alongside other tracks, using Cardano technology and interacting with the network to develop solutions to real-world problems. The track’s individual three winning projects focused on AI agents that can pay, get paid, and prove their work.

[CoinGraph](https://token2049.coingraph.ai) took the overall grand prize across all tracks, building a verification layer that helps AI agents check information before moving funds. [Cardano Card](http://cardano-card-launch.netlify.app) explored how AI agents could purchase real-world goods using Masumi Network escrow, while [zx402](http://zx402.org) focused on private funding for autonomous agents using zero-knowledge proofs. Together, the projects offer a glimpse of how agentic commerce could develop on Cardano, from automated payments to privacy-conscious transactions.

The hackathon was part of a wider TOKEN2049 programme, with teams building, testing, and presenting working ideas in a short space of time. For more on the results and the projects that came out of the event, check out the[Cardano Foundation’s recap on X](https://x.com/Cardano_CF/status/2108218814160662878?s=20).

## Linear Leios Is Coming. First, the Constitution.

![Linear Leios Is Coming. First, the Constitution, by @Nicolas |autox205](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex023/uploads/cardano/original/3X/e/e/eea8b4e94aac6d2102d4ef1f199dda68de59dedf.jpeg)

Cardano’s upcoming Dijkstra hard fork brings [Ouroboros Linear Leios](https://github.com/cardano-foundation/CIPs/blob/master/CIP-0164/README.md) to mainnet. Linear Leios lets block producers publish larger endorser blocks alongside regular Praos blocks, so the network can process far more transactions without changing its security model. On [Musashi Dojo](https://www.musashi.network/), the public Leios testnet running since June 2026, the first test phase peaked at 26.8 TxkB/s against the 4.51 TxkB/s mainnet can handle today. That is roughly six times current capacity, with parameters still set conservatively.

New features bring new protocol parameters, and the [Cardano Constitution](https://cardano.org/constitution/) only lets governance change parameters that are listed in its Guardrails (Appendix I). Anything not listed stays frozen at its launch value. So before the Dijkstra hard fork goes to a vote, the Constitution needs an update that adds these parameters and sets safe ranges for each.

That process has now started. A draft amendment is live on Intersect’s Constitutional Amendment Portal. It covers parameters for Leios, Peras, reference-script protection and two pool-reward changes (minimum pool margin and maximum pledge leverage), plus an updated Guardrails Script. Every change sits in Appendix I. The main body of the Constitution is untouched. Several guardrail values are still marked pending, so now is the time to review it and weigh in.

Read the amendment: [Constitutional Amendment Portal — Cardano Constitution](https://cap.intersectmbo.org/#/detail/12)

Open Wallet Standard Adds Native Cardano Support

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex023/uploads/cardano/original/3X/2/e/2ebe7e00df447ff9ce76ce658a3431e108cae5c2.jpeg)

The Open Wallet Standard (OWS) added native Cardano support with the release of v1.4.3. Developed by the WingRiders team, with technical coordination and review from Input Output Group (IOG) and the Midnight Foundation, the integration extends the open-source toolkit to support Cardano wallets and transaction signing. According to[IOG’s announcement](https://www.iog.io/news/open-wallet-standard-adds-cardano-support), OWS provides applications and AI agents with a shared interface for managing wallets and signing transactions.

The integration adapts OWS to Cardano’s two-key structure under CIP-1852, where base addresses can contain a payment key for controlling funds and a stake key for delegation. The signer handles both keys independently, adding a stake-key signature when required for staking or delegation. Developers can also sign messages using base, enterprise, and reward addresses, and check balances through Koios APIs.

The update introduces policy-based controls for AI agents signing Cardano transactions. Developers can assign API keys and define rules covering permitted networks, spending limits, and transaction expiration windows. OWS evaluates transaction details against these rules before approving a signature, giving developers more control over how autonomous agents interact with Cardano. Check out the announcement for the full technical update.

## Ambassador Stories, with Ian McCullough

 ![@Cullah |autox460](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex023/uploads/cardano/original/3X/f/b/fb8288e371a2f0e99245ee79692c550162ce2732.jpeg)

Meet Ian McCullough, also known as Cullah, one of the newest Ambassadors to join the Cardano Ambassador Program.

Based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Ian wears quite a few hats: musician, creative producer, and blockchain advocate. His journey into Cardano started with a familiar frustration for independent artists: making music rights and royalty payments more transparent. That search led him to build Sync.Land and discover Project Catalyst, where he found something just as interesting as the technology itself: a community that helps decide how its resources are used - Governance!

These days, Ian is deeply involved in Cardano governance through Intersect and the Curia consortium. He also brings Cardano into conversations with policymakers and the wider community. And he’s keen to show that you don’t need to be an engineer to make a difference. Sometimes, it starts with bringing the right people into the same room.

His message to the community? Show up for the boring parts. The votes, discussions, and committee meetings might not grab the same attention as a price chart, but that’s where a lot of the important decisions happen.

Curious how a musician from Milwaukee ended up helping shape Cardano governance? Read Ian’s full Ambassador Story here: [https://forum.cardano.org/tag/ambassador-story/472](https://forum.cardano.org/tag/ambassador-story/472)

## Cardano Improvement Proposals (CIP) Updates

 ![by @COSDpool |autox204](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex023/uploads/cardano/original/3X/f/d/fd6577319712eb319675b430210f1daa474a874e.jpeg)

[Robert Phair](https://x.com/COSDpool)’s latest snapshot turns the spotlight on how existing standards hold up in practice, from a proposed path for tokens like USDM and USDA to achieve regulatory compliance through the programmable tokens standard, to a possible new version of CIP-0068 in response to the CF survey of real-world NFT data.

**New Proposals**

[Block Producer Payloads](https://github.com/cardano-foundation/CIPs/pull/1282) - to provide more software details for each node type producing a block: either an extension to[Block Producer Identifiers](https://github.com/cardano-foundation/CIPs/pull/1276) (candidate CIP-0203) or as a standalone CIP.

**Active Review**

Focusing primarily on ecosystem issues for existing CIPs in this period:

[CIP-0113: Separate programmable custody from issuance](https://github.com/cardano-foundation/CIPs/issues/1294) - to support existing CNTs and external mint/burn workflows - or any standardised process for existing tokens like USDM and USDA to achieve regulatory compliance through our newly launched “programmable tokens” standard.

[CIP-0068: Possible new version](https://github.com/cardano-foundation/CIPs/issues/1298) - in response to CF survey of real-world NFT data published to Cardano in the last several years, considering:

- [URI schemes: Arweave is allowed, Iagon is not](https://github.com/cardano-foundation/CIPs/issues/1291)
- [Allow NFTs without an image](https://github.com/cardano-foundation/CIPs/issues/1292)
- [Plutus constructors in metadata](https://github.com/cardano-foundation/CIPs/issues/1293)

**Completed**

## Updates from the Cardano Foundation

 ![CF Updates|autox204](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex023/uploads/cardano/original/3X/d/5/d57a8de03781f7aff8c35d412afee2162c8baad6.png)

\*\*The Cardano Foundation has shared several updates over the past two weeks, covering enterprise adoption, education, digital identity, internet infrastructure, and real-world applications of Cardano.
\*\*
On September 30, the Foundation announced two new blockchain initiatives developed with Brazilian energy company [Petrobras](https://petrobras.com.br/en/home-petrobras) and [PUC-Rio’s](https://www.puc-rio.br/english/) Ledger Labs. According to the[case study](https://cardanofoundation.org/blog/renewable-fuel-traceability-petrobras), the projects use Cardano to support the traceability of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable diesel. One applies a Book-and-Claim model to track environmental benefits, while the other records key stages in the renewable diesel supply chain. Both initiatives aim to make sustainability claims more transparent and verifiable.

On October 1, the Foundation announced a partnership with Pacific Meta to support enterprise Web3 adoption in Japan. As outlined in the[announcement on LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/posts/cardano-foundation_we-are-deepening-cardanos-enterprise-presence-activity-7511319025222725632-oTOT), the collaboration combines Cardano’s infrastructure with Pacific Meta’s local market presence and systems integration expertise, with the aim of helping Japanese businesses explore and implement blockchain solutions.

Education was also on the agenda. On September 28, the Foundation announced a multi-year partnership with the [Venture Accelerator at UCLA Anderson School of Management](https://www.anderson.ucla.edu/about/centers/price-center-for-entrepreneurship-and-innovation/anderson-venture-accelerator). According to the[partnership announcement](https://cardanofoundation.org/blog/ucla-partnership), Cardano Academy content will be incorporated into UCLA’s blockchain education from 2027. The collaboration also includes five sponsored fellowships for early-stage companies, an interactive masterclass, and sponsorship of the 2027 UCLA Draper Innovation Showcase.

Meanwhile, the Foundation’s .ada top-level domain application advanced to the next phase of [ICANN’s](https://www.icann.org/en) New gTLD Program, as was announced on October 8. [The update](https://cardanofoundation.org/blog/ada-icann-next-stage) highlights how the application follows a Cardano governance action that received about 75% stake weighted votes from the DReps. If approved, .ada could support simpler wallet addresses, digital identity integrations, and tokenized domains - something to definitely be excited about as it would enable connecting Cardano more closely with the wider internet.

Finally, the Foundation’s September activities included CEO Frederik Gregaard’s participation in CV Summit in Zurich on September 29–30. The Foundation’s[September monthly update](https://cardanofoundation.org/blog/september-2026-activities) highlights the event as part of its broader engagement with industry leaders around trust-based infrastructure and enterprise blockchain adoption.

To wrap things up, a few more updates worth a look. According to the Cardano Foundation’s[Open Food Chain case study](https://cardanofoundation.org/blog/open-food-chain-compliance-into-sales), the platform is using Cardano to anchor supply chain compliance data for brands including Kraft Heinz and Interfood, giving shoppers a way to trace product claims back to their source. Compliance paperwork might not sound exciting, but making that information useful to consumers is definitely an interesting one.

On the education front, the[University of Nicosia’s Fall 2026 blockchain course announcement](https://www.linkedin.com/posts/activity-7514294057846833154-BbJa?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop&rcm=ACoAAASY_HMBF12pIOK9BRLx6a1BxxbqAkx3M-E) highlights 25 Cardano-sponsored places in the course’s Advanced Track, giving more students the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of blockchain and digital assets.

And for those looking to put their Cardano knowledge to the test, Cardano Academy has introduced the Cardano Blockchain Certified Professional (CBCP) exam through Pearson VUE. As outlined in the[Cardano Academy update on LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/posts/cardano-academy_cardano-now-has-a-professional-level-certification-activity-7513272817812127744-s1h9?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop&rcm=ACoAAASY_HMBF12pIOK9BRLx6a1BxxbqAkx3M-E), the professional-level certification builds on the existing Associate qualification, focusing on applying Cardano knowledge across areas including governance, staking, and development. The preparation courses are free, so there’s a place to start before booking the exam.

## Update from Intersect MBO

 ![Update from Intersect MBO](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex023/uploads/cardano/original/3X/1/c/1cf722bb24c7ae9835485907d1392f0ea868fc50.png)

Intersect’s[Weekly Update #132](https://intersectmbo.org/news/intersect-weekly-update-132-oct-9-2026) has a reminder for stake pool operators and node operators: around 30% of mainnet block production was still running outdated node versions three weeks after release. According to Intersect, node 11.1.2 is the minimum version, while 11.1.3 is recommended.

There’s also progress on Dijkstra readiness. As outlined in the same update, the CAP-12 draft on Dijkstra-era protocol parameters has been revised following community review, with clearer guardrails and improved safeguards for Leios. The draft remains open for discussion on the[Constitutional Amendment Portal](https://cap.intersectmbo.org/), with the next[CAP Review session scheduled for October 15](https://luma.com/9luwkglz).

On the governance side, Intersect points to an open SPO poll on whether to increase the target number of stake pools from 500 to 1,000, with voting running until October 21.
