I’m logged in but I’m not able to vote. Tried with several browsers already
I agree with what @papa_carp and @rdlrt said. 10M (or 15 if it’s the lower delegation possible for CF) it’s ok to boost the blocks production and at the same time avoid to completely saturate the pool (in this way the golden ticket would be totally ineffective because once gone the pool would be left empty with no organic delegators). Also, a longer timeframe would allow a growth of the pool, while 3 epochs like before it’s pretty useless. For a longer timeframe there should be a control over the selected pools performance tho, but I’m sure the community could get this done with ease.
as @feqifei I can’t vote too, not sure why…
A huge thank you to all who participated in voting on the above proposals. Your suggestions have helped shape—and will continue to help shape—the Cardano Foundation’s delegation methodology.
Voting is now closed. In addition to tallying the votes, we have read and carefully considered your comments and discussions in this thread. We will be using all of this information to inform the necessary operational changes to our delegation methodology.
The Cardano Foundation’s staking methodology is constantly evolving. Later this week, we will share more details on our planned redelegation interval, the amount of ada we will delegate to individual pools, as well as the measures we will take to support pools that have been adversely affected by the recent shorter delegation period and k-parameter change.
For the sake of continuity, this thread will become a mega thread for all Cardano Foundation delegation methodology updates surrounding the k-parameter changes. Please refer back to this thread as required, and please do participate in the discussions—we are considering and appreciative of all points of view.
Thank you for your participation and have a productive week.
This is awesome, good job CF. I know my chosen stake pool lost delegates once all the tools started showing them as oversaturated and they probably missed out on the mass exodus to smaller pools too. I really respect the fact that you’re going to try to make it right.
Further to our earlier communication, we would like to update our community with the latest stake pools that the Cardano Foundation has delegated to.
In addition to the following stake pools, we have also continued to delegate to those stake pools chosen in our last delegation. These pools include:
- THRIV
- LATAM
- 1JPN
- ADAVZ
- AOAUS
- ATLAS
- SAGE
- GENKI
- VIPER
- K9K
However, as the k-parameter change has influenced the pool saturation point, we have reduced our delegation amount from ~ ₳64 M to ~ ₳15 M to these pools in an effort to keep them from becoming saturated, encouraging new delegators to join their pools.
The following stake pools are now being delegated to:
11: 4CHAN
12: ADASH
13: TETON
14: ADAPH
15: W4ADA
16: ADAGL
17: ASN
18: DEW
19: HIVE
20: TBO
21: LUNA
22: CARDs
23: CROWN
24: ASING
25: ADP
26: PMW
27: POS
28: GHISX
29: ANFRA
30: SALAD
31: ALLI
32: BLOXB
33: CHARM
34: CARBO
35: YOADA
36: ENDVR
37: FOX
38: DOXA
39: LIFE
40: FIDA
41: SION
42: COAST
43: WRLP
44: AIJOU
We will soon record a short video for our community sharing more details on our delegation methodology, including our strategy and reasoning, which we hope you will find informative.
If you have any questions you would like to ask our team, please leave them below.
The Cardano Foundation
Would you mind posting your reasoning in text-form here first? Nothing against videos, but they are not my favourite medium to keep myself informed.
Hi @waldmops, we will release a short summary of the video’s content at the same time in written form, which you can read if you prefer. Thanks!
Any comments on the observation made by a few SPOs that the list above includes at least 3-4 pools that are a part of multi-pool setup, thus going against the CF’s delegation rules? (cc @Andy_Hendrikx)
Yes that was very unfortunate and we will not rotate to counter this. Positive side of things for us internally is that we intend to learn from things like this. We will therefore be using multiple data sources moving forward but we can’t guarantee to be 100% accurate all of the time.
CF blessed my pool with a golden ticket (SPOs call it this), and I can’t wait to know more about it in the video. In the mean time it would be nice to know for how long these delegations will last. They can make a difference in lifting pools up, if they last more than a few epochs. At the time being, CF is yet to disclose this info. It’s a little “scary”.
Thank you
Hello all,
Thank you for participating in these discussions, and helping to shape our delegation strategy.
Our CEO, Frederik Gregaard, and General Secretary, Hinrich Pfeifer, have now met virtually to discuss the evolution of the Cardano Foundation’s delegation methodology. We are pleased to share this short video with you, which should help explain how our current methodology was informed, and how it was implemented. Frederik and Hinrich also discuss their plans for the Cardano Foundation’s delegation methodology in the future.
Thank you, and please stay tuned for future updates as our delegation methodology evolves.
Thanks for the video. Thank you for your delegation, SALAD is grateful for that.
Having said that, the video is pretty vague and it doesn’t clarify the strategy in details. Knowing exactly how long this delegations will last is crucial to plan for a small pool. “probably in the future” “maybe one month” doesn’t cut it. It is great that CF is doing this, but not enough information.

Hi Igghibu, great meeting you and thank you for running a pool, and being part of our community. For security reasons we will not communicate exactly when the next staking is taking place but will follow the community vote. Eg. Appr 1 month depending a bit on timing of Epochs etc.
All the best,
Fred
Hi Igghibu,
Just to clarify, the video and Frederik have clarified that the delegation period was agreed by the CF and the community in this thread, by way of votes. The delegation you received will move on after 1 month. It was delegated to you on the 30th November, so expect it to move out on 31st December.
Obviously, on occasion for unforseen circumstances, there is a possibility this time frame can slip by a short period. However, as agreed and confirmed, if you feel you need to prepare for the 15m delegation to move on, prepare for 1 month. If for any reason the delegation takes an extra day or so (depending on how the epoch falls, or unforseen circumstances) then that cannot be helped.
For confirmation:
Also, the video at 2:55
“Will delegate most probably on a monthly basis”
I’m not sure how anyone can be anymore clear or precise
Hi Igghibu,
Yes, I didn’t realise there were two places to vote. Both votes give a result of 1 month. Hope that clarifies things.
most probably is because there is no way to commit 100% to one month all the time, this can move slightly.
To hopefully alleviate confusion, the Cardano foundation will stick to moving their delegation on a monthly basis. With room for slippage as explained above. Hope this helps
Yes that is correct.
Thank you for your support and engagement.
Best
Fred
I just want to say that ADAPI https://ada-pi.online/ is the only relay in Israel right now. It is there since four month but minted only one single block till now.
And RAOOL https://www.raspberry-stakepool.fr/ states there is a fibre connection plus redundancy but never hit a single block.
BERRY is also a PI Pool but has at least the chance to get some blocks from this epoch on. They did even join forces to have some chance. But there are also only two blocks till now after long time.
I just have seen those interesting projects and i like all three very much, maybe CF can give them some delegation-love if possible!? For diversity and decentralization. Happy holidays!
That post only talks about the trademarks that are in control of the Cardano Foundation and include the names “Cardano” and “ada” and their respective logos.
There is no other mentioning of the trademarks as explained in your post.
Sure.
They are allowed as per our trademark policy. Consider reading it again because I believe you misunderstood it.
EDIT: @Xion89 please also read our FAQ and especially the segment about duplicate accounts. Feel free to DM me which account can be disabled.
As it days here ADA CAN be used in stake pool name. It furthermore clarifies to give you example:
Hope this helps you understand how wrong your above posts are
