Hello and welcome!

Staking is not yet implemented. We need to wait for Shelley release (Q3-Q4 2018) for it to be available. I guess we’ll have more technical info at this time…

  1. System administration skills are more important for pool-leaders, since they basically sell their services of maintaining a node.

  2. You have last few days to register for the test-net here: staking.cardano.org . After that - just wait to receive information from the IOHK, or for related update on this forum. There’s no much info right now.
