Introducing [SAMOS]

As an Engineer in my 40s, I am fascinated by technologies that promote autonomy and contribute to decentralization—such as renewable energy sources and, of course, blockchain technology and Cardano.

I decided to actively contribute to the Cardano network by creating the SAMOS Stake Pool, named after my beloved island of Samos.

From my perspective, it is controversial and paradoxical to talk about decentralization while hosting nodes in centralized cloud services, not to mention that it wouldn’t be financially viable (at least in my case) over the long term. SAMOS nodes run in private networks.

Why delegate to [SAMOS]?
Decentralization is my passion and [SAMOS] my hobby. No one takes anything more seriously than he takes his hobby. Since nodes’ cost is primarily my own time, I will continue their operation for as long as I believe Cardano represents the most promising project of meaningful decentralization. The pool will gradually expand with more relays and all fees until at least 10k will be pledged.

• Ticker: SAMOS
• Pledge: 0.6k ₳ updating to 1.1k
• Epoch Fee: 340 ₳
• Variable Fee: 1.00%
• Pool ID: a1e59d51a58a2e65432d67458104d264ccfb6b6e33b813b19ae1a625
• Pool Location: Greece
• Pool Infrastructure: 1 Producer, 1 Relay (each with 32 GB Ram, 1 TB SSD, 6(BPN) / 4(RN) Cores)
• Pool redundancy: UPS / 5G rooters in case of internet interruption.
