Dear all,
when looking live at the log of a node, you can see, that the number of slots per block is volatile. Sometimes there are 10 to 20 slots per block but sometimes it needs over a hundred slots for the next block, even if there are more than 100 transactions pending. In very rare cases there are 2 blocks shortly one after the other, with only 1 slot for the 2nd one.
So I guess, that the overall performance of the network (tx / s) could be higher, if there would be a more constant number of slots / block, let’s say 30 as a maximum.
Which parameter or which factor does determine the number of nodes / block? Are there any plans to change this?
