The Project Catalyst Milestone Module was trialed in Fund 9, and has become the default reporting and project tracking tool in Funds 10 and 11, with small refinements in each iteration. Change is always challenging, but most Catalyst participants agree that Milestone tracking represents our systems “growing up” and learning from past mistakes. Better accountability ultimately means better and more fair system for the players who are participating because they really want to build and contribute.
I’ve been lucky to be able to experience the milestone module from two perspectives: as a Project Builder, and as a Milestone Reviewer. Here I will describe both of these roles and reflect on what I think is working well, and where there might still be room to grow.
