Restarting nodes everyday

Hi folks ,

I am a new to stake pool operation . I am still in the process of understanding the architecture and technical details behind stake pool operation .

So while setting up the stake pool , I was wondering is it ok if we restart the nodes once on everyday basis to make sure that the nodes are healthy and refreshed .

Any advice is much appreciated . Thank you .

If u have more relays then should not be a concern ( set the relays to restart at different time)
If u have only one relay then is fine to not restart it every day as long u have enough OUT/IN peers

Your pool should be up 24/7. If your pool gets elected while you are restarting… well, you know what happens.
Monitor your connections “ss -tn”. If you have enough, everything is peachy.

I don’t know what “healthy and refreshed” means? Please elaborate.
It is Linux - not Windows. It will run forever. My longest uptime for one of the DNS server was 7 years and that was in 2005.
