UPDATE CARDANO NODE to 1.30.1 - FOR CNTOOLS users

does this look ok for my BP? live view looks a bit different now. im not sure what the syntax error mean. Seams to processing transactions alright.

node SS

You are using cntools? Try to download again the scripts.
I don’t see the node version… try

journalctl -e -f -u cnode

What is the output (last lines since the last restart)?

updated env … this looks better ? node SS

Now it’s perfect

my older node keeps restarting… waiting on some ram that i order to upgrade. how do i increase mem swap?

I followed the instructions to the letter, but somehow the relay node just won’t work. Any ideas why that is?
sudo systemctl status cnode
just gives the following results:

Loaded: loaded (/etc/systemd/system/cnode.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled)
Active: inactive (dead) (Result: exit-code) since Wed 2021-10-13 21:20:43 UTC; 1s ago
Process: 17148 ExecStart=/bin/bash -l -c exec /opt/cardano/cnode/scripts/cnode.sh (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE)
Main PID: 17148 (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE)

journalctl -e -f -u cnode

also try cardano-node - -version
which cardano-node

cd /usr/local/bin
ls -l

Oct 13 21:48:43 Relay cnode[51442]: AesonException “Error in $: key “AlonzoGenesisFile” not found”

Oct 13 21:48:43 Relay cnode[51442]: cardano-node: Aeson exception:

Oct 13 21:48:43 Relay cnode[51442]: Error in $: key “AlonzoGenesisFile” not found

This is, what I get from the journalctl command…

Maybe its also good to know that I updated from 1.27.0 to 1.30.1…

Run again the prereqs to download the alonzo file

cd ~/tmp
./prereqs.sh -f

Then:

  • go inside the config.json and set the TraceMempool back to true
  • edit env file if u use another port than 6000
  • for Relay edit the topologyUpdater.sh script (custom peers line)
  • for Producer edit the topology file (add the relays). U will find your old file named topology.json_bkpxxx
    U can type mv topology.json_bkpxxx topology.json

Restart the nodes and check again in glive

  • go inside the config.json and set the TraceMempool back to true → were already set
  • edit env file if u use another port than 6000 → already using 6000
  • for Relay edit the topologyUpdater.sh script (custom peers line)
→ not sure what to put here, as it worked with 1.27.0 without any changes and before that. Currently the following is stated there:

#CUSTOM_PEERS= "None"

  • for Producer edit the topology file (add the relays). U will find your old file named topology.json_bkpxxx
    U can type mv topology.json_bkpxxx topology.json

→ topology did not change, by the way, the product node can start up the node and shows gliveview without problems. Only relay node is not working.

did u ran the prereqs.sh -f ?

Yes, of course. That was the first thing I did.
After everything I tried to start the node, but it did not start, so I tried the journal again, and the same error message appears…

It’s something related with the alonzo file, same issue?
hmmm can you provide me what commands did u used when you upgraded to 1.30.1 ?
Do you remember if u used: “git pull origin master”?

I only used the commands, that were mentioned here in the guide on how to update to 1.30.1. So, I am pretty sure, this command was not not mentioned.

Can u type cardano-node - -version and show me the output?

~/git/cardano-node $ cardano-node version

cardano-node 1.30.1 - linux-x86_64 - ghc-8.10

git rev 0fb43f4e3da8b225f4f86557aed90a183981a64f

cardano-cli version

cardano-cli 1.30.1 - linux-x86_64 - ghc-8.10

git rev 0fb43f4e3da8b225f4f86557aed90a183981a64f

Hmm can u try to rebuild the node?

Worked, but the producer node will not sync. So, I guess, I have to rebuild this one as well…
