Very few transactions

Hi there - I operate a Stakepool as I am keen to learn more about this network. However I note that there are usually only around 1 to 2 transactions per block. Is the Cardano network really that quiet?

There is no reason for transactions yet. Apart from send to a wallet and send to an exchange. When ada is being traded within an exchange, that is not on the blockchain, that’s simply numbers on a screen, the ada actually just sits in the exchanges wallet.

So yep, the blockchain is quiet in regards to transactions as there is no requirement for any really.

Hence no rush to get Hydra out, it’s not required yet

Thanks - yes that is pretty much what I thought - I guess the rewards (with regards to fees) for Stakepool owners will accelerate once the smart contract/app layer takes off and the new phases are introduced.
