There are some projects that aims to overcome this problem (have a look at lightning network). But probably less people has the answer you need.
Blockchain will disrupt the world, and the cryptocurrency are the first visible effects.
Crypto are here to stay for lots of years and we are live the beginning.
What I am trying to say is that you ask: “will btc ever…”, and answer probably is yes. But we will be still alive?
I’m not sure, BTC might become the MySpace of cryptocurrency as well.
You have to think about the incentive for change. Who controls the decision to increase transaction volumes and reduce fees? What is in their best interest?
