Cardano just got a major governance upgrade! On September 1st, 2024, the network had a “hard fork”—a big upgrade that brings it close to completing an 8-year roadmap. This upgrade kicks off the “bootstrapping” phase, giving the Cardano community 90 days to get familiar with new governance tools. A key part of this new era is the role of DReps (Delegated Representatives), who are chosen by ADA holders to represent their votes on governance matters.
To make it easier, the platform 1694.io was launched. It helps ADA holders learn about governance and gives them a way to see DRep profiles and make informed choices about who to vote for. Plus, anyone passionate about Cardano can register to become a DRep. The platform focuses on transparency and inclusivity, blending both on-chain activities and off-chain updates.
Cardano’s future relies on community participation, and 1694.io is set to grow as an open-source hub to ensure everyone has a voice.
