A Deterministic, Audit-Grade On-Chain Reporting MVP for DAO Treasuries

Hello Cardano community,

I would like to introduce an MVP I recently developed for DAO and treasury on-chain reporting, designed with a strong emphasis on determinism, auditability, and methodological clarity.

As Cardano continues to emphasize formal governance, transparency, and long-term sustainability, treasury reporting becomes not just an operational task, but a matter of credibility and trust.

This MVP was built with that perspective in mind.

The Problem This MVP Addresses

Many existing blockchain accounting and analytics tools focus on:

  • Dashboards and high-level summaries
  • Convenience and real-time monitoring
  • User experience over methodological rigor

However, when treasuries need to answer more fundamental questions such as:

  • Can these results be independently reproduced?
  • Can an auditor verify each reported figure directly from on-chain data?
  • What exact rules and assumptions produced these numbers?

most tools provide incomplete answers.

Design Principles

This MVP was intentionally designed around three core principles:

  1. Determinism
The same input address always produces the same output, with no hidden state or implicit assumptions.

  2. Transparency
All calculation rules, including rounding, pricing sources, and missing-data handling, are explicitly documented.

  3. Audit-readiness
Every reported number can be traced directly to on-chain transactions.

How This MVP Differs from Typical Tools

Area Typical Tools This MVP
Calculation model Black-box or snapshot-based Fully deterministic and versioned
Reproducibility Not guaranteed Guaranteed for the same input
Methodology Implicit or undocumented Explicitly documented
Reporting format Dashboards or CSV only Audit-ready PDF and CSV
Traceability Partial Full tx-hash-level traceability
Evaluation Requires onboarding Single address proof of concept

How It Works

  1. Input a wallet or contract address.

  2. Generate a PDF and CSV report containing:

    • Full transaction history with UTC timestamps
    • Asset type and inflow/outflow classification
    • USD valuation based on transaction-time pricing, with source stated
    • Calculation methodology version (for example, Methodology v0.1)
  3. Every figure in the report can be independently traced back to on-chain data.

The result is a report that is reproducible, verifiable, and suitable for audit or governance review.

Why This Matters for Cardano-Based DAOs

  • Transparent treasury reporting strengthens governance legitimacy.
  • Deterministic outputs reduce ambiguity during audits and reviews.
  • Explicit methodology aligns with Cardano’s emphasis on formal verification and rigor.

This MVP is not intended to replace analytics dashboards.
Instead, it is designed to complement them by providing a trust and verification layer.

MVP Overview and Proof of Concept

A detailed overview of the MVP, including sample reports and methodology documentation, is available here:

I am also happy to generate a free proof-of-concept report for any DAO or treasury address so the output can be evaluated directly.

This post is shared primarily to invite discussion, feedback, and critical review from the Cardano community.
Questions, critiques, and suggestions are very welcome.

Thank you for your time. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
