Budget Draft Feedback and Opportunities in Cardano Governance

On 17th April 2025, I hosted a hybrid event, Budget Draft Feedback and Opportunities in Cardano Governance which brought together Cardano enthusiasts. The online session commenced at 4PM and occurred on Zoom while the in-person session was held at Center for Technology Education and Innovation Lab (CTEIL), Nalerigu, Ghana.

Hosted by Benjamin Baani under the drive of Know Cardano Town Hall (KCTH), the event brought together Cardano members who learned about some key elements of the budget draft and explored some opportunities available within Cardano’s governance. This was/is a stepping stone event that will help participants to subsequently provide response/feedback to the budget draft on the Cardano Forum, X etc.

ONLINE SESSION
The online session was led by Benjamin Baani covering the below.

  1. Exploring the knowledge base of Intersect MBO
  2. Going through the budget glossary to understand key budget elements, Net Change Limit (NCL), Budget Buckets divided into marketing, governance support, research and core, Cardano Development Holdings (CDH) etc.
  3. Governance actions: We looked at some governance action on NCL in gov.tools.
  4. Exploring the Cardano Forum: Participants who have not created forum accounts were urged to do so. Participants were also urged to provide their feedback on the Cardano budget 2025 in the Cardano Forum.
The online session had a maximum attendance of 13 participants.

IN-PERSON SESSION
At the end of the online session, I opened a 10 minute Q&A session for the in-person attendees.
A participant asked about available opportunities within Intersect. The response given was, as Cardano community members, they should stay active by regularly visiting Cardano platforms on Forum, Telegram, X, Discord etc in order to find updates on upcoming releases. I also added that, there is opportunity for community members to submit proposals and also review proposals.

Another participant asked a question on Intersect membership, the benefits of a paid membership and a non paid membership. I mentioned some benefits of the paid tiers like opportunity to apply for grants and contesting for committee and board elections which the non paid membership (associate tier) cannot. I directed them to look out for more benefits in their Intersect member area.
The in-person session had an attendance of nine (9) participants.
ENDING NOTE:
The event came to an end and participants expressed excitement on the opportunities that Cardano through Intersect is offering them. In-person participants received some snacks as refreshment.
