commercializing the results of research
Some people commented that it would have been better if there had been a little explanation about the process of commercializing the results of research, since it is often difficult in such cases.
reasonable expectations for research
・I had the opportunity to speak to developers and hear their priorities. An A is high and an F is low.
Reasons for low priority example
・I understand what you want to do, but there’s a very good chance it won’t work.
・A lot of time and money has already been invested into it, and it hasn’t worked out.
・It could be a great idea, but it’s unclear if it’s really relevant to Cardano.
・I understand the purpose of doing this research, but this way won’t work, there’s a better way.
・A solution to this already exists, so there’s no need to research it again.
There is no research that is risk-free, so if we ask for zero-risk research, we won’t be able to do any research, but I think it’s important for DRep to vote with reasonable expectations.
So, how about the following…
Interview several well-known engineers, developers, and researchers in Cardano about each item, and ask them to prioritize and comment. As much as possible, have them comment on the risk aspects and make them public. There is no research that is risk-free, but it is important that DRep understands that.
