CPS-0008 (Domain Name Resolution): room for a community CIP, or is the Foundation handling it via the gTLD work?

As of yesterday’s decision between CIP editors and the authors (no comment yet by the CPS-0008 author), CPS-0032 is on track to deprecate CPS-0008 as addressing the same subject while extending it through some modern implementation issues which have become part of the problem statement:
