This week’s guest on the Cardano SPO Column is a stake pool operated by a group of three tech-savvy enthusiasts on a mission to bring some fairness and freedom to the world of finance: NOVApool.io [NOVA].
The previous guest was a stake pool run by Nils and Nicole who were born and raised in Germany with a mission to help as many cats as possible.
This initiative is a point of reference for everything Cardano and every week or two we will invite a Stake Pool Operator (SPO) to answer some questions and give us an update directly from within the Cardano community.
Hi, thanks for your time. Tell us something about your team, where are you based and what are your backgrounds?
Hi, Patryk! Thank you for having us. We are a group of three tech-savvy enthusiasts and good friends, who are on a mission to bring some fairness and freedom to the world of finance.
We’re based in Germany and have multicultural family backgrounds. Our life stories differ from each other.
Some of us have experience in software development, others in blockchain technology, and media production, but we all share a common goal of promoting the adoption of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology as a means to create a fairer and more decentralized monetary system.
What’s the path that led you to Cardano and to become Stake Pool Operators (SPO)?
How did we end up in the Cardano space? Let’s just say we started with Bitcoin, as probably a lot of your readers did. We were looking for something more functional and sustainable, and we found it in Cardano’s proof-of-stake consensus algorithm.
We believe that Cardano offers a unique mix of security, decentralization and scalability. This can make the blockchain technology accessible and secure for people all around the world and we’re happy to be part of this exciting ecosystem.
One of the biggest impacts on us was one of the first white board videos from Charles. He managed to and still does capture a lot of people in the Cardano space and beyond with his solid knowledge and his honest demeanour. After meeting him in person at last year’s Cardano Summit, our commitment to the project grew even more. Now we have fallen too far into the rabbit hole to get out, haha.
You are involved with World Mobile. For those who don’t know, what is World Mobile? What problem are they solving? And what’s your involvement?
Yes, we are deeply involved with the World Mobile project and are planning to run validator nodes, the so-called Earth Nodes, on its blockchain.
World Mobile is the biggest and the most ambitious project building on Cardano, that aims to provide sustainable connectivity to all people worldwide. They are working to build a decentralized mobile network that can provide affordable and reliable internet access to underserved communities.
Leveraging already existing technology like aerostats and low orbit satellites and combining it with some innovative approach and new technology, World Mobile is going to help Cardano with its mission to bank the unbanked by connecting the unconnected first.
As part of our commitment to supporting projects that align with the Cardano philosophy, we will operate three Earth Nodes for the World Mobile Blockchain. Why three? It’s because there are different types of validator nodes that are going to run the network and we want to explore and become proficient in all of them to be able to teach others in the future on how to operate them.
Can you tell us more about the educational content you create? What’s the thought process behind it? Who is your target audience? WIll education help mass adoption?
Sure, let’s talk about education. We believe that education is the key to mass adoption, which is why we’re committed to creating comprehensive video content about Cardano on our YouTube channel.
We started our channel for people who are new to the space and cover everything from basic Cardano terms to how to install wallets to the tools available in the Cardano ecosystem. From time to time, you can also find a funny meme video or a Charles Hoskinson inspired music mix to help our viewers in times of FUD and despair and to remind them of better times that are coming.
Our target audience is anyone who wants to learn more about Cardano, and we hope that our content makes it easy for them to do so. Good education was always and is very important to empower people and we believe it will lead to explosive growth in this industry. By the way, if you want a specific topic covered or have suggestions on how to improve our content, please reach out to us and we will hear you out.
Great contribution. Any final thoughts? Where can people stay in touch?
Be kind to others, work on your dreams and goals and don’t allow anyone to make you doubt yourself!
We encourage people to stay in touch with us through our social media channels, including Twitter, Discord, and our YouTube channel or visit our website. Thank you for having us!
