This is Matthew (or Matt if you like) from the U.S. I’ve been interested in Cardano for a couple of years now, and finally found the time to get more involved. Also, I’m a developer with an imperative programming background interested in learning more about functional programming (i.e. Haskell), and its use in Cardano’s various implementations.
