Unfortunately, we are a little behind with posting the meeting notes of the Parameter Committee, but they should all be published retrospectively in the next few days.
June 19, 2025
Attendees:
Kevin, Vijay, Sam, Jonny, Oscar, Neil
Agenda Items:
- PCP-004 (merged with PCP-003 for GA submission): PCP 004_costModels_KennethMacKenzie - #2 by kmackenzie
- Discussion on PCP-005 (to be drafted by Thomas)
- Comments on CIP-050 (or its revival)
- MinPoolCost=0: Acknowledging the ongoing discussion on X, including contributions from parameter committee members.
Discussion:
-
PCP-004 (including PCP-003): This needs to start the notification period. Alex (or another individual with broad communication reach) is needed to inform the community of this impending change. This notification will initiate a three-month countdown and should include:
- The proposed rationale.
- A reference to the minutes of this meeting.
- Action: Kevin to provide the rationale to Alex, who will then arrange for its dissemination.
-
PCP-005 Update: Text from Thomas regarding PCP-005 is still awaited.
- Action: Alex to contact Thomas to request a timeline.
-
CIP-050 : CIP-050 may well overlap with the IOG delivery item “Revised Stake Pool Incentive Scheme” (a joint effort with Obsidian Systems) and should be considered within that context.
-During the discussion a gap was identified in the current lack of a standing body of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) relating to the general operational economics of the running of the settlement layer. The parameter committee feels the ongoing need for such models and access to appropriate expertise.- Action: Raise this gap with the TSC.
-
The parameter committee acknowledges the ongoing discussion regarding MinPoolCost and the wide-ranging debate on its likely and intended outcomes.
-
The committee anticipates the emergence of a consensus that at least defines the intended outcome, which is necessary for any assessment by either the parameter committee or with the aforementioned delivery item.
- Action: No action at this time.
