With the planned service wind-down of the SecondFi wallet, securing and properly migrating your funds is essential for every user. To guide the community through this transition, Cardano Africa Academy organized an urgent virtual meetup on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 7:00 PM UTC via Google Meet.
The session was facilitated by Jeremiah Baani, who delivered an in-depth presentation on the overall asset migration strategy. He walked attendees through the platform’s current status, including its non-transactional isolation mode, the built-in official migration module, and the upcoming claims verification portal designed to safeguard user balances.
The practical walkthrough covered the entire transfer workflow - from setting up destination wallets (such as Eternl, Vespr, Lace ) and migrating ADA, native tokens, and NFTs, to critical post-migration steps like redelegating staked ADA. The guide also emphasized crucial security best practices, such as storing seed phrases offline, avoiding third-party links or unofficial APKs, and always running a test transaction first.
Overall, the meetup was a major success. As part of measuring the impact, four participants who attended the live session reached out directly to confirm they were able to successfully migrate their assets without any issues. Furthermore, the uploaded recording has already gathered over 95+ views on YouTube in the past 3 days demonstrating that many more community members across the ecosystem are actively engaging with the walkthrough and likely securing their funds.
If you missed the live event, you can follow the exact same steps via the full YouTube recording below.
