No burning of ADA coins

In general, I don’t think you can combine the function of a store of value with a medium of exchange. People expect money to have stable purchasing power in the first place.

People see cryptocurrencies more as an investment than as money, and it doesn’t matter if we’re talking about BTC, ETH, or ADA. There are more reasons. Like the fact that they buy “other” crypto-money with fiat money and those rise/fall in price. People automatically see it as an investment similar to stocks.

If people were to use cryptocurrencies with a capped number of coins (like Cardano and Bitcoin), they wouldn’t want to spend the coins. They would rather want to save. A medium of exchange can’t have that property. People must be willing to spend money on goods and not delay consumption.

If people are to pay with cryptocurrencies anytime soon, they will be stablecoins. Algorithmic stablecoins like Djed have potential.
