The Beyond Minimum Viable Governance State of Governance Report is now available.
When people talk about Cardano governance, everyone has an opinion. We wanted to understand what the community was actually experiencing. Over the past several months, the Beyond Minimum Viable Governance (Beyond MVG) project brought together interviews, workshops, surveys and on-chain governance data to build a clearer picture of the current state of governance across the ecosystem. The result is the State of Governance Report: a community-informed snapshot of where governance stands today, the challenges people are experiencing, and the opportunities the community believes should be prioritized next.
Some Key Findings :
- DRep voting power continues to become more concentrated.
- Governance participation is harder than it needs to be because of fragmented tooling, information overload and accessibility barriers.
- Many participants identified sustainable incentives as one of the biggest opportunities to strengthen long-term governance participation.
- The community also highlighted practical improvements around wallet UX, DRep discovery, governance tooling and Constitutional Committee sustainability.
One thing I’m particularly proud of is that this work is already leading to action. One of the themes identified through this research became CPS-0033: DRep Voting Power Concentration, which I had the privilege of co-authoring with Danielle Stanko and is now part of the Cardano Improvement Proposal (CIP) process. A huge thank you to everyone who participated in interviews, workshops and surveys. Research like this only works when the community is willing to share honest feedback. You’ll find the report, Governance Playbook, translations, GitHub repository and additional resources in the linktree here. I’d genuinely love to hear what stood out to you after reading it.
