Hello, Cardano community,
As voting continues on the Cardano Summit 2026 treasury withdrawal proposal, we wanted to take a moment to encourage participation – regardless of which way you’re leaning. Voting closes on the 29th of May, and we want to encourage as many people to vote before then, whatever direction their vote takes: Governance action | Cardano Explorer
A quick refresher on what’s being proposed
The Cardano Foundation has submitted a revised request for treasury funding to deliver a dedicatedCardano Summit in Singapore this October (5th to 6th) right before TOKEN2049. The Summit is a two-day event, with Day 1 focused on governance, the technical roadmap, ecosystem innovation, and Day 2 on institutional and enterprise adoption.
Why we believe in this proposal
The Summit’s reach and media interest have grown every year. Singapore gives us direct access to Asia’s institutional and regulatory landscape at a time when many projects are pulling back, which is exactly when strategic investment can make the biggest difference.
The 2025 Summit received governance approval and delivered strong results, including over 1,460 attendees from 70+ nationalities and 26,000+ online viewers at the Berlin hub alone. We believe 2026 builds on that momentum.
On accountability
We’ve heard the community’s concerns about budget size and market timing, and we take them seriously. In addition to decoupling from EMURGO’s Tier-1 sponsorship proposal for TOKEN2049 and a reduction in the budget size by more than 20%, the proposal includes audited smart-contract fund management (Sundae Labs), an independent Oversight Committee with the power to pause or adjust payments, milestone-gated vendor disbursements, real-time public fund tracking, and a commitment to return any unused ADA to the treasury within six months. An independent auditor will verify the final accounts.
What we’re asking of you
If you’re a DRep, we would love for you please review the proposal and cast your vote (yes, no, or abstain). If you’ve delegated your stake, please reach out to your DRep and make sure they know how you feel. The vote closes on the 29th of May, and every vote counts.
We built this proposal because we believe it’s the right move for Cardano, but whatever the outcome, this is the community’s decision and we respect it fully. We look forward to your vote and thank you for the thoughtful debate so far.
