A collaborative Luma events calendar to help us all stay connected

Hey everyone,

We all know that keeping track of Cardano events can feel like a full-time job. Great things are happening, but they’re spread all over the channels.

To help with this, we wanted to share a new Cardano community calendar, supported by the Cardano Foundation.
:link: Cardano Events · Events Calendar

With the success of Luma as an event platform, the idea is to complement existing event pages. We want to create another touchpoint that helps aggregate what’s going on, and we’re already talking with the folks behind other calendars to cross-share listings and make discoverability easier for everyone.

It’s a practical space for organizers to add their events for more visibility, and for anyone to find interesting Cardano events to join.

Feel free to bookmark it, share it, and if you’re an organizer, please add your events to the list.
Let’s make it a genuinely useful resource together.

Could you translate your posts to English before answering?

Thank you!

Good and important questions, thank you.

The process works as follows:

  1. Someone submits their event
  2. Mods check it with the guidelines and approve it
  3. Event gets listed in the calendar

There are broad guidelines in place to ensure the quality of listings.
They can be found as an event in the calendar itself and with their own specific tag:

About the structure of the calendar:
The event calendar uses tags to help people find relevant events in their country, or virtual events if they prefer. There is also a calendar widget and globe view that helps users find events.

In the end, it’s a living breathing initiative which heavily depends on the community’s input.
Having “too many” listed events for example will be a good and welcome challenge to have. In this case we might need to rethink the structure of tags and improve the guidelines to maintain the calendar as a valuable resource.

“Does this mean that all event organizers will have to use this space to post their Cardano-related events?”

No, you are neither expected to list your events here at all nor to list them on this calendar exclusively.
Please see it as one of the useful tools that will help your events with visibility.
As Luma allows it to list external events, such as Meetup.com events and regular websites, you can freely decide where you want to host your event and then add it to the Luma calendar as well.
Don’t be surprised if your event shows up even though you didn’t submit it. I probably came across it on Social Media and added it myself.

Let me know if there’s anything else I can clarify for you.
Have a great weekend.
