Can AI Governance Become More Autonomous Without Losing Human Control?

As AI systems become more capable of making decisions and taking actions, I think the question of AI governance becomes increasingly important. It is one thing to use AI as an assistant, but it is very different when an AI system can access data, interact with applications, or make decisions with limited human involvement.

This seems especially interesting from a decentralized governance perspective. Cardano has already spent considerable effort thinking about transparent decision-making, community participation, and governance structures. Could some of these ideas eventually help shape how autonomous AI systems are governed? Cardano Forum

One challenge is accountability. If an AI agent makes an unexpected decision, organizations need to know what the agent was allowed to do, what information it accessed, and who was responsible for that system. Privacy is another major concern when AI systems work with sensitive business or user data.

I recently came across a discussion about moving AI compliance toward more autonomous governance, which raised a similar question: instead of checking AI systems only through occasional audits, could governance controls be built directly into the AI workflow?

I would be interested in hearing the Cardano community’s perspective.

Could decentralized governance principles help create more transparent and accountable AI systems while keeping humans responsible for important decisions?
