As part of executing this project that’s funded by Project Catalyst in Fund 13 which we have put a lot of effort, time and our resources into preparing for this event, which is no easy feat. We are now proud to say we have successfully held this event which exceeded our own expectations and goals. We have successfully held an event with 150+ participants and exceeded Cardano Summit Jakarta in terms of the number of participants. We are really happy with this event because the number of participants exceeded our own goals which is only 30 participants and many participants are passionate in learning and interacting with the speakers of this event through QnA’s.

Although the topic of this event is mainly regarding Cardano and its DeFi ecosystem which we are passionate about in educating. We also have collaborated with an influencer and dozens from different universities in Bandung to become speakers and provide education for the masses. The topics brought from this collaboration are also regarding Blockchain technologies in general and investment and how to manage personal finance.

The workshop itself is divided into 3 main sessions. For the first session, the main speakers are Sulaeman Santoso, S.Kom., M.T, Valdryan Ivandito S.T, and Andre Elausta, S.T., CFP. The first session starts from 9:15 AM - 11:30 AM (GMT +7). The first topic, covered by Sulaeman Santoso, talks about Blockchain technology in general and his interpretation of the Blockchain technology. Smart contract technology is also mentioned.

The second and third topics or the main topic of this first session is brought by Valdryan Ivandito. In the main topic of this first session, Valdryan mainly covered Blockchain Generation 1.0 and its technologies including P2P, self custody of Cryptocurrencies (Hot Wallet, Cold Wallet). He also discussed Blockchain Generation 2.0 and highlighting its technologies such as Smart Contracts and how it works, analogies and Crypto sectors however the DeFi sector was mainly emphasized due to its role being the primary topic of the whole entire workshop.

In the next segment, we covered the topics of Personal Finance and Investing. The main reason we brought this topic is to spread awareness when it comes to investing and due to it being very closely related to DeFi. We want people that joined the workshop to also be educated and to minimize risks of loss in the DeFi market or any type of investing instruments. We mainly covered the topics of how to manage your finances, investment instruments, long term investing and risk management.

The second session starts at around 13:30 until 14:30 (GMT +7). The topics of this session are solely explained by Valdryan Ivandito. In this session Valdryan discussed Blockchain generation 3.0 (Cardano) and fun facts about Cardano. He also implemented a practical session of self custody and P2P using VESPR wallet and Cardano faucet. Subsequently, we moved on to DeFi dApps such as DEX’s and Lending-Borrowing platform (Liqwid, Fluidtokens, Levvy). Not only that, we also talked about Cardano’s native stablecoins such as iUSD, USDM and DJED.

Ph.D. In the last session Valdryan introduced Levvy, a peer-to-peer lending-borrowing platform which is also one of our primary topics. He also went to slightly discuss basic technical price action analysis for it has importance to minimizing risk of financial losses in peer-to-peer lending and borrowing.

To finish the workshop, we are delighted to have invited Prof. Hamzah Ritchi and Wisnu Uriawan to become a speaker. The topics they discussed is also about the basics of Blockchain but they also discussed DeFi in a more professional manner and in a more direct way on how we can implement it in our daily lives and how the government can also apply it.

From this, we are happy to say the event went well and we’re successful in bringing education to the people. We have put a lot of effort into preparing this event and in the end it was successful. We have also put a lot of our resources into marketing strategies such as :

  1. Short Videos
  2. Paid Promotions
  3. Instagram Posts

We are thrilled with the results since it exceeded our own expectations of our initial 30 participants joining the event to 150+ participants which, if compared to the yearly Cardano Summit Event, our participant counts surpassed them by a significant margin. In addition to the event, we have another event coming up on the 2nd of March 2025 to discuss more and dive deeper to the topics of P2P borrowing-lending in Levvy and how to do technical price analysis to minimize risk of loss.

In the end we hope that this event may be a catalyst for Cardano to be known by many more people from all kinds of backgrounds.
