Cardano Meetup Ho Chi Minh #6 – 23/03/2025 – Recap
Event Information
Cardano Meetup Ho Chi Minh #6 was held on Sunday morning, March 23, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City.
Although the number of attendees was modest, the meetup still took place as planned, with full content delivered. Everyone present showed a genuine interest in learning more about Cardano and was actively engaged in discussion.
Main Topics of the Meetup
Ecosystem Updates & Cardano Vision
Mr. Sang Nguyen from VCoinCheck shared a summary of recent updates from the Cardano ecosystem.
He also talked about Cardano’s long-term direction and how current developments are aligned with the broader mission.
Understanding Cardano Budget 2025
Ha Nguyen introduced the structure of Cardano’s 2025 budget, focusing on:
- What the Net Change Limit means and why it matters
- The funding categories currently being prioritized
- The process for reviewing proposals and how the community can get involved
Many participants were interested in how governance and budgeting actually work on-chain, and how individuals or teams from Vietnam could participate.
Governance on Cardano
The session also included a brief overview of how governance is being implemented, including the role of DReps and how ADA holders can delegate and vote.
This led to several follow-up questions and comparisons with other blockchain governance models.
Token Creation on Cardano
To wrap up the session, the group went over how to issue native tokens on Cardano, including tools that don’t require smart contracts.
A few attendees said they planned to try creating test tokens after the session.
Q&A Highlights
The group had an open and focused discussion. Some of the questions included:
- How can a small local team submit a proposal to receive funding from the Cardano treasury?
- What if the budget doesn’t approve certain categories like DRep rewards—how does that affect the system?
- How is the Net Change Limit determined each year?
- Can we track how much has been spent from the treasury and on what?
- What kind of proposals get funded most often—community building, dev tools, education?
- Can anyone issue tokens, or is there a formal process or registry?
Community Atmosphere
Even though it was a smaller meetup, the atmosphere was serious, focused, and collaborative.
Everyone had space to ask questions, share their thoughts, and get direct feedback. Some attendees mentioned they appreciated the in-person format, as it helped them better understand topics they found confusing online.
