The fourth event of the Hanoi Cardano Meetup Series was held in Hanoi on January 10, 2026, hosted by Cardano Vietnam and Sky3Team.
After the previous sessions explored privacy and long-term ecosystem direction, Meetup #4 shifted toward a more user-centric topic: Cardano Global DeFi Wallet — and how wallets are evolving from simple storage tools into the main access layer for everyday DeFi adoption on Cardano.

1. Opening & Community Gathering
The meetup began with check-in and networking at O2O Coffee, creating a welcoming environment for both first-time attendees and long-time Cardano community members.
The organizing team shared the goal of Meetup #4:
to lower the entry barrier for DeFi by helping participants view wallets not as “technical tools,” but as the starting point for real-world DeFi usage on Cardano.
2. Wallet & DeFi 101 — Building the Foundation
From Web2 → Web3 → DeFi
Speaker: Mr. Jimmy Lee
The first segment focused on fundamentals, guiding participants through:
- The shift from Web2 (centralized control) to Web3 (user ownership)
- How DeFi enables financial interactions without traditional intermediaries
- The roles of smart contracts, DEXs, lending protocols, and stablecoins
- Why wallets matter: enabling user-controlled access to assets and DeFi applications
This part helped many newcomers understand why wallets matter beyond storage, and how they become the daily gateway to DeFi.
3. Cardano DeFi Ecosystem — Practical Use Cases
The discussion then moved into Cardano-specific examples, highlighting how one wallet can connect users across multiple DeFi applications, including:
- Minswap – on-chain trading via a leading Cardano DEX
- Liqwid – lending and borrowing in Cardano DeFi
- DJED – Cardano’s overcollateralized stablecoin
- The role of Cardano Core in providing a secure, scalable base layer
This section gave attendees a clearer picture of how the Cardano DeFi stack fits together for real usage.
4. Deep Dive — The Vision of a Global DeFi Wallet on Cardano
The keynote then explored the broader evolution of wallets:
- From single-chain wallets
- To DeFi wallets supporting multiple applications
- Toward global, multi-chain DeFi wallets with unified user experiences
A key takeaway: adoption will depend not only on technical capability, but also on simplicity, safety, and usability for everyday users.
5. Q&A, Quiz & Community Interaction
The meetup closed with an interactive Q&A and quiz session. Participants raised practical questions around:
- Choosing the right wallet for long-term use
- Common mistakes new users make when trying DeFi
- Improving user safety and overall experience
- How wallets can accelerate broader DeFi adoption on Cardano
The conversation showed strong interest in real-world usage and UX, rather than purely technical theory.
