I. Funding & Accelerator Opportunities
1. SDG Blockchain Accelerator | 2026 Cohort
The SDG Blockchain Accelerator, led by UNDP AltFinLab, is accepting applications for its 2026 cohort, with the Cardano Foundation participating as a strategic partner.
The programme connects concrete development challenges with expertise across blockchain, decentralised AI and cloud technologies. Focus areas include digital payments, digital identity, traceability and supply chains, and data and privacy.
The initiative is open to UNDP teams across Europe and Central Asia and colleagues across the wider UN system proposing concrete development challenges connected to active programmes. The selected teams are then connected with innovators and solution-makers who can help address those challenges.

II. Open Source & Developer Opportunities
1. Maintainer Retainer Program | Community Projects
The Maintainer Retainer Program (MRP) provides recurring funding to experienced contributors maintaining critical Cardano open-source repositories.
Applications for Community Projects to be maintained are currently open. The programme is run by Intersect together with the Open Source Committee and Technical Steering Committee.

2. Maintainer Retainer Program | Developers → Community Maintainers
The MRP is also accepting applications from developers who want to become Community Maintainers.
Community Maintainers are Trusted Committers working on eligible projects. Their contribution can cover code, documentation, triage, user support, governance, and ecosystem advocacy.
Applicants must meet the programme’s contribution threshold and pass an initial 30-day evaluation before moving to ongoing funding.

3. Tooling Sustainability Program | Open Source Projects
The Tooling Sustainability Program is accepting applications for open-source tools that are important to the Cardano ecosystem.
The programme is designed to support tools that improve developer experience, interoperability, productivity, and long-term technical sustainability. Projects go through an eligibility and evaluation process before funding terms are established.

4. PRAGMA | New Project Applications
PRAGMA supports open-source infrastructure projects for Cardano and beyond and is currently accepting applications from projects seeking to enter its project pipeline.
Project owners can submit an application during the current intake period. Projects go through a public governance process covering fit, openness, legal readiness, roadmap clarity, incubation, and eventual acceptance.

The Cardano Developer Talent Pool is an ongoing channel for developers interested in opportunities across the ecosystem.

III. Governance Participation
1. Intersect Board Elections 2026 | Voting Phase
The Intersect Board Elections 2026 are currently in the voting phase, with two member-elected Board seats available.
Eleven candidates are participating in the election. Eligible members can review the candidate information and cast their votes through the Intersect Members Area. The official Cardano community update confirms that voting runs until September 25, with results expected on September 28.
Who can vote?
Eligible Individual and Enterprise members who:
• Held an eligible membership for at least 180 days before voting opened
• Remain in good standing
• Completed the required identity verification

2. Constitutional Amendment Portal | Ongoing Participation
The Constitutional Amendment Portal (CAP) provides a public space for reviewing proposed amendments to the Cardano Constitution and following the consultation process.
The current consultation includes seven proposals, with review sessions continuing as the process progresses.

3. Cardano Roundtable | Treasury Funding Allocation: The Case for Reform
A Cardano Roundtable discussion will examine how Cardano’s treasury funding allocation process could evolve going into 2027.
Topics include the Net Change Limit, funding domains and categories, treasury sustainability, delivery and milestones, measurable outcomes, and possible structural changes to future funding cycles.
The session is intended as an open discussion rather than an endorsement of a particular proposal or solution.

The Cardano Foundation is recruiting an Ecosystem Governance Coordinator to support governance engagement and coordination across the Cardano ecosystem.
The role sits within the Foundation’s Governance Team and covers areas including DRep engagement, stakeholder relationships, governance strategy, community outreach, and operational coordination.

1. Case Study: Blockchain for AI | Cardano Academy
Cardano Academy currently offers Case Study: Blockchain for AI, a short self-paced course examining how blockchain infrastructure can address challenges around AI, including verifiability, accountability, identity, and secure interactions between autonomous systems.
The course uses the Masumi Network as a live production case study and explores immutable logging, zero-knowledge proofs, decentralised identity, smart contracts, and Cardano’s EUTXO model. The official course page lists it as online, self-paced, intermediate, three modules and 0.5 hours.
