Curtis Myers - Platform Statement

Do you have, at least 6 months, or more experience in Project Catalyst?

Yes

Describe the Community Roles in which you have participated at Project Catalyst (e.g. Voter, Proposer, PA, vPA, Challenge Team, etc.)

Voter

What key ideas or issues would you like to champion as a representative at the Catalyst Circle?

I would like to identify the most problematic concerns from those that have the experience of Circle to not lose the valuable lessons from that experience. If you plan to build a governing body, I believe it to be wise to have a roadmap that includes a list of priorities at a high level along with a guidebook to navigate this path. Personally I felt the power that the whales had during the
fund 9 voting robbed the spirit of Catalyst, granted that was the intent to allow things to break to see where we need to improve. but my passion is in solving this dilemma, I recognize that my passion may not be the shared passion of the community so I leave it to the consensus of the community to decide the importance of each proposed priority.

How do you intend to measure your engagement?

When I reviewed the question how do I intend to measure my engagement with the community, I felt the lack understanding the context in the circle reporting document. So Before I can answer that I would like to see how knowledge management is currently being captured within the Circle. That would provide me with a better understanding to be able to utilize the experience of others. There are so many tools and experts that we have available to us I believe we can make the process more efficient
in the sense of time. OpenAI and others tools along with tools like otter.ai can take the meeting minutes for us and summarize them into reports. This could be used for many of the platforms like zoom, twitter, discord, so on. If I were to provide a measurement of my engagement it would save a lot of time if there was a standard to be followed or agreed upon to alleviate duplicating the effort of all circle members establishing their own.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know as to why you would be a good fit for this seat on the Circle?

When I discovered what Cardano really had to offer 2 years ago, I immediately felt that I had found the missing link in my life, the genesis of my passion. I stayed behind the scenes for much of it not knowing my value in this community. I am reminded often that we all have value no matter what we bring along with us. I hope to provide value to the Circle just by listening and applying my passion of learning and rabbit holes. I do have experience in some areas that could bring value here, but I think the skill that is required of the Circle the most is the ability to hear the community and see the pitfalls. Identify, gather and research, form a problem statement, identify solutions, propose, and implement.
