On July 28, 2026, Goma Hub / YNUKA LABS hosted its 3rd Community Call, bringing together blockchain enthusiasts, developers, and community members to explore the latest developments in Cardano, Web3, and emerging technologies.
As part of the coordinating team at Goma Hub and as an elected member of the Intersect Membership & Community Committee (MCC), I contributed to discussions around key Cardano ecosystem developments.
This report summarizes what we covered.
1. Van Rossem Hard Fork – Activated July 18
The first major Cardano protocol upgrade approved through the on-chain governance process

3. Intersect Bylaws Vote – ENDED July 29
Intersect members voted on updated Bylaws for legal compliance and organizational growth.

4. Project Catalyst – Supporting Innovation and Ecosystem Growth
Project Catalyst continues to play an important role in supporting innovation within the Cardano ecosystem by providing opportunities for builders, entrepreneurs, researchers, and community members to develop solutions using Cardano technology.
During the Community Call, discussions highlighted:

Upcoming Catalyst initiatives and funding opportunities aimed at supporting new projects;

The role of new integrations and ecosystem tools in expanding the possibilities for Cardano-based applications.

5. SecondFi Security Incident Web3 Security Awareness
Security was also discussed during the Community Call, with a focus on the recent incident affecting SecondFi.
This event highlighted the importance of maintaining strong security practices when using Web3 applications, including protecting wallet access, verifying platforms before interacting with them, and relying on official communication channels.
The discussion emphasized that security awareness remains essential for users and communities as the blockchain ecosystem continues to grow.

The Cardano ecosystem continues growing in the Democratic Republic of Congo through education, community activities, and contributor engagement.

9. Artificial Intelligence: Understanding Change and Preparing for the Future
During the Community Call, participants discussed one of the most important technological transformations of our time: Artificial Intelligence and its impact on the future of work, innovation, and society.
The discussion explored how AI is changing the way we learn, create, and work. While AI tools can significantly improve productivity and open new opportunities, participants emphasized the importance of understanding these technologies, verifying their outputs, and maintaining critical thinking when using them.
