Written interviews with NFT projects on the Cardano blockchain

This week’s Cardano NFT project is building an ecosystem that connects art and gaming, releasing its Mission 1 as a single player FPS grinding game: Degen Alien Club.
The previous guest was a company whose mission is to move the blockchain gaming industry from centralized Web2.5 gaming, to a new era of Trustless Web3 Gaming.
This initiative is a point of reference for NFTs on Cardano and every week or two we will invite someone to answer some questions and give us an update directly from within the Cardano community.
Hey, glad to have you here. Please introduce your team, where are you from, what are your backgrounds?
The Degen Alien Club (DAC) team currently has 5 NFT fans. Doxxed via TEDnation.
All founders are 30+ years old, being professionals IRL (in real life).
Main artist works for big companies such as Marvel or Sony (living in Czech Republic).
Leading Unity developer has created several games already and is cooperating with 3D graphic and textures experts or other programmers also for other projects (living in Czech Republic)
Community, ecosystem and project manager is crypto veteran since 2012 and author of published books about XRP and mainly Cardano ecosystem and NFTs + provides consultations about blockchain for business companies (living in Germany)
What is Degen Alien Club? What experiences are you creating for people? And why have you chosen Cardano?
In the beginning of NFTs on Cardano, we remember SpaceBUDZ and Unsigs. It was actually possible to come up with only art, no other roadmap or utility and projects were able to succeed. As more projects appeared, some with low quality or copy/paste approach, NFT fans started to focus a lot on: what you can actually do with your NFT. We believe that ownership of NFTs should be profitable for owners and an exciting experience. Therefore we connect art, gaming, and the ecosystem together.
We love the connection between NFT characters and gaming, especially Battle Royale FPS type games, like CS:GO mode Danger Zone. We are creating a whole ecosystem like badges, resources, story-telling, art, game missions in Unity… let your NFT character grow as you play and win prizes on top.
Cardano is the best developed blockchain in the world, combining great features from BTC and ETH worlds. One of our members even wrote a book about Cardano ecosystem & NFTs featuring rising star Patrick Tobler with NMKR platform. If you observe the overall crypto space, there are no perfect solutions, but you want to bet on the most scientifically developed and prepared one because you put your money in. There are areas for Cardano to improve, nonetheless we believe that the chain will be still here at least in 2064 as Degen Alien Club is happening in this post-apocalyptic world.
3 NFTs from the Degen Alien Club collection
Many say gaming will lead NFTs to mass adoption. What are your thoughts about this? And how to overcome the scepticism coming from the traditional gamers?
We see NFTs as additional elements in gaming, not replacing classic ones. Simply adding more fun and features.
It’s great to see your NFT character grow as you gain more experience playing the game. Not only buying skins in the game, but let your NFT evolve connected to your effort. It brings more engagement and fun.
If we take again an example from CS:GO. You can buy a new knife like a skin. But it has exactly the same parameters or does the same damage like normal one. You can have your own PFP and gain some ranks. But your character cannot improve and you cannot take into the game new characters with different benefits and abilities.
If we connect NFTs and gaming these new options are becoming available. And if more chains are working together, you can take your NFTs with you anywhere. It might even be that you really love your NFTs, don’t want to sell them and you want to see them grow.

What does the future hold? Where do you envision Degen Alien Club in the years to come?
We have a roadmap for several years, we do not want to rush things. Degen Alien Club starts with Mission 1 as a single player FPS grinding game and will continue with Mission 2 as a multiplayer and multi NFT projects game. Our collection of Degen Aliens is ready featuring 200+ traits and 5 civilizations.
Mission 1 game is already finishing development and we have just opened the pre-pay option in our Discord.
Major aim is for us to have several things ready before any mint date. So that NFTs owners can immediately play the game and enjoy the journey.
So far we envision 3 phases and we are ready to work on others.
New features coming:
- Civilization council (DAO) where the owners of Aliens can vote not only about the project’s future but also about Kronox treasury and more.
- Badge NFTs will allow your Alien to grow
- Resources NFTs will provide you a share on royalties and bring new utility in Phase 2 & 3
- Starships NFTs will increase staking rewards and are mandatory for several features like Staking factory and Sharing facility
- Kronox token is utility engine for our ecosystem
- Trading station is a trading platform focused on maximising DeFi gains and touching legacy future markets
- Hexagons are going to provide possible ownership of promotional spaces directly in Mission 2
