This week’s Cardano NFT project is creating AAA artwork and building secure and immersive social experiences with the KWICVERSE, subverting the keyboard warrior stereotype in a supportive community of pop culture fanatics: KWIC.
The previous guest was a project featuring a collection of 6000 high-fidelity generative artworks inspired by various sources like Sci-Fi, Nature, African culture: ProxiesNFT.
This initiative is a point of reference for NFTs on Cardano and every week or two we will invite someone to answer some questions and give us an update directly from within the Cardano community.
Hey, glad to have you here. Please introduce your team, where are you from, what are your backgrounds?

KWIC has a team of 20 supporting day to day that do an amazing job from Head moderators to graphic designers.
We have hyper focused on building out our Game Dev team — The Kwic team consists of AAA game developers who can assist in designing, building, and rigging 3D avatars. This expertise allows them to create compelling characters and worlds for brands and projects.
What is KWIC? How are you utilizing NFT technology and why have you chosen Cardano?
Keyboard Warriors Internet Café
Our project has two parts:
1) Keyboard Warriors (Artwork). We’re an art driven project, fusing our love of pop culture with digital design to create original works. JESWRI, who is designing the Keyboard Warriors, has worked with Adidas, Converse, Dell, PlayStation and many more of Australia’s biggest brands.
2) Internet Café (Gamified experiences). Everything we are doing within our game which breaks into two areas
- Kwic Launcher is a platform that enables brands and web3 projects to launch 3D assets, worlds, and games. It serves as an interface through which these projects can connect with their target audience.
- Kwicverse refers to the MMORPG game being developed by Kwic. It includes upgradable avatars, a collaborative city, and a social ecosystem. This aspect of their technology is focused on creating an immersive gaming experience.
We chose Cardano as we believe in the tech and the decentralisation, and with people spending more time online than ever before, we have used gaming tech and created a safe and inclusive space for all, a community that helps to support, uplift and grow together. Our web3 world is a fun only zone, no trolls allowed.
The tech we utilise will have web2 and web3 functionalities.
3D Experience: The Kwic Launcher aims to provide a 3D experience to its community. This suggests a focus on immersive and visually engaging content that goes beyond traditional 2D interfaces.
Launcher Functionality: The Kwic Launcher serves as a bridge between games or worlds and the Kwic interface. It allows developers to plug in their own games or work with the Kwic team to build and connect their game or world to the platform
Unity and Unreal Engine Support: The Kwic Launcher supports game development in popular engines like Unity and Unreal Engine. This flexibility allows developers to use familiar tools to create their games and integrate them with the Kwic Launcher.
You’ve launched a collection on Bitcoin. For those who are unfamiliar, what are Ordinals? How do they differ from Cardano NFTs?
KWIC — Ordinals
On the 25th of May KWIC has made history by inscribing unique KWIC Ordinals onto the Bitcoin blockchain, each of these KWIC Ordinals where carefully put together by KWIC co-founder and world renown artist JESWRI.
KWICwork Orange, Bitmap v Bitcoin. Aeons ago, there was a ‘Contest Of Champions’ to decide the one true ruler of the dark web. Every 300 cycles; the kingdom resets and the champion must fight for their throne. During the epic fight of Phase 1, keyboard warriors were randomly emulated and rezzed into the ‘Chanel Orange’ simulation tucked secretly within the Bitcoin Blockchain. These warriors now become DotCombatants and they’re all fighting for their freedom; because nobody leaves alive. There’s only one way out; WIN.
KWIC Ordinal rewards NFT
For every KWIC Ordinal minted, the minter will be airdropped a KWIC Ordinal rewards NFT on the Cardano Blockchain. These NFTs will accumulate $KWIC Token rewards and will receive a free KWIC playable avatar mint later this year!
You’re also launching a KWIC token. What will its utility be? How can people get $KWIC?
The $KWIC Token is a utility token native to the Cardano blockchain, designed specifically to support and drive the KWIC ecosystem. It is important to note that this token should not be considered a financial investment but rather a tool with specific use cases within the KWIC platform.
The utility of the $KWIC Token lies in its function as the primary means of fuelling the KWIC ecosystem. As a utility token, it serves multiple purposes and enables various actions and interactions within the KWICVERSE (game) and KWIC FORGE (KWICVERSE NFTs & KWIC DeFi items) platforms.
One of the key features of the $KWIC Token is its fixed supply of 888,888,888 tokens, meaning no additional tokens will be minted in the future. This characteristic can help maintain the token’s value over time as demand potentially increases. A significant portion (70%) of the $KWIC token supply is allocated for distribution through staking rewards.
This encourages users to actively participate in the ecosystem by staking their tokens, which helps secure the network and earn rewards in return.
Some of the specific use cases for the $KWIC Token include:
- KWICVERSE game item purchasing: Players can use the token to buy in-game items, enhancing their gaming experience and driving adoption.
- KWIC FORGE NFTs & KWIC DeFi items: The token facilitates the creation, trading, and utilization of non-fungible tokens and DeFi items within the KWIC ecosystem.
- Upgrading NFTs: Users can use the token to enhance the value and capabilities of their NFTs by increasing multipliers and other attributes.
- Entering raffles for Art 1 of 1s: The token grants access to exclusive opportunities to win unique art pieces created by commercial street artists.
The decision to distribute the $KWIC Token over a 24-month period indicates a strategic approach to ensuring the token’s sustainability and gradual growth.
$KWIC burn. In addition to the previously mentioned features, the $KWIC Token is implemented using the CIP-68 (Cardano Improvement Proposal 68) standard, which allows for a true burn aspect. This means that tokens can be permanently removed from circulation through burning**, reducing the total supply and making it deflationary**.
Overall, the $KWIC Token serves as the backbone of the KWIC ecosystem, encouraging active participation, driving adoption, and facilitating various interactions and transactions within the platform. Its utility as a means of access and value exchange enhances the overall user experience and strengthens the ecosystem’s viability.
Great contribution. Any closing remarks? Where can people learn more?
KWIC is creating AAA artwork and building secure and immersive social experiences with KWICVERSE.
We have our biggest mint to date coming up:
The KWIC — Playable Avatars will be able to be used to customise your experience in the game KWICVERSE. Imagine owning your character in your favourite game and being able to do with it as you please, upgrade, customise, buy/sell, or just show it off to your friends! These NFTs will double as a $KWIC Token multiplier when paired with OG KWIC NFTs. Due to these NFTs being minted on the CIP-68 standard you will be able to upgrade the NFTs to increase the $KWIC Token multiplier rewards!
There are 15 different Factions and 4 different classes with a total of 32 different combinations. These NFTs will also have a rarity factor based on the body wrap (skin) being common, uncommon, rare & legendary! Having all these different asset combinations makes these 3D avatars truly unique with a wide variety for everyone to enjoy!
