Jefeweiss - Individual - Introduction

  • Governance Beliefs: Cardano governance is a work in progress. It is important that people make good faith efforts to understand each other and have discussions. We need to have a minimum viable functional government right now but leave ourselves flexibility to change in the future. The most important thing right now is to pass a budget and use what we learn from that process to improve in the future.

I think a good path forward is to experiment with small systems and iterate to find things that work and then slowly expand those systems. The current outline of the system will probably work, barring unforeseen problems.

  • Motivation: I signed up as a DRep because I wanted to understand how the process worked and what was involved before I delegated the responsibility to someone else. I am not a good long term person to delegate to, because I fully intend to retire and delegate to someone else at some point in the future. I think that being a DRep will eventually be a full time job and I already have several full time jobs.

  • Qualifications: I wouldn’t go so far as to say that I am qualified. I am capable of listening to others and synthesizing information. I have participated in Catalyst and followed the drafting of the Constition.
