M2: Working Group Operations

Hello Cardano community!

I’m thrilled to report on the successful completion of our biweekly webinar series on Cardano governance and community initiatives. This series provided an in-depth look into Cardano governance structures, critical protocols, and the essential roles within the Cardano ecosystem.

In Week 1, Mustapha @chosenfintech and @seiduziblim kicked off the series with an insightful introduction to CIP-1694, highlighting key parameters and underscoring the importance of the Delegated Representative (DRep) role. They provided an overview of the DRep Code of Conduct, registration steps, and delegation process, equipping participants with a foundational understanding of this new governance model.

In Week 2, Mustapha, Seidu, @Nana_Kwadwo_Safo, @Christopher and @wimscardano explored Project Catalyst. They guided participants through the proposal review process, effective proposal writing and marketing strategies. Additionally, they outlined the voting process and discussed various roles and associated rewards to empower attendees in navigating and contributing to the Catalyst ecosystem.

In Week 3, Mrs. Afia Owusu, Wada Ghana Lead, presented on IntersectMBO, explaining its structure, purpose and the benefits of membership. She encouraged participants to consider joining, emphasizing how Intersect aligns with Cardano’s vision of decentralization.

In our climactic Week 4 session, Mustapha, @Kamaldeen_Musah, Bernard and Seidu reviewed five past Catalyst proposals. This discussion enabled participants to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of successful applications, fostering a deeper understanding of best practices in proposal creation for Catalyst.

This series offered valuable insights and practical skills to support active participation in Cardano governance. We concluded with a survey to capture feedback from our working group members, which provided invaluable insights. You can access the survey report here, and find recordings of all sessions on the Cardano Ghana YouTube page.

We extend heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated members of the Cardano Governance Working Group for their unwavering commitment to our community. Your consistent presence and engagement in our weekly sessions have been instrumental in promoting meaningful discussions and advancing our shared goals.

A special thank you to each of our speakers for sharing your knowledge, experiences, and perspectives throughout the series. Your contributions have enriched our collective understanding and inspired all attendees to envision a stronger future for Cardano governance.

Thank you all for your invaluable support and dedication!
