We are excited to report the successful launch of the CIP-1694 governance working group in Tamale, Ghana, on August 24, 2024. The event marked a significant milestone for Cardano governance in our region, attracting strong participation from both in-person and virtual attendees. We had 45 participants on-site and 60 joining virtually.
The meetup commenced with opening remarks from our project lead, Seidu Ziblim, who welcomed attendees and provided an update on the current state of the Cardano ecosystem. He also gave an overview of the CIP-1694 project. Following this, Cardano ambassador and project assistant Mohammed Mustapha delivered an insightful presentation on the Cardano blockchain. He elaborated on the Cardano roadmap, the founding entities, and various use cases. Mohammed also discussed the evolution of Project Catalyst, addressing all questions from the audience.
Seidu Ziblim then presented a review and analysis of Fund12, offering an overview of the working group. He highlighted the rationale for its formation, the importance of participation, and the scheduled activities. At the end of his presentation, Seidu shared a registration link for those interested in joining the working group, along with additional resources on Cardano governance and Project Catalyst.
To commemorate the event, branded Cardano shirts were distributed to all in-person participants, and snacks and lunch were provided to keep everyone energized. Mohammed Mustapha, who leads the Cardano Ghana community, expressed gratitude to the participants and announced upcoming events, including the Cardano Constitutional Workshop and Cardano Summit.
After reviewing the applications, we selected 30 out of 43 applicants to join the working group. Selection was based on experience within the Cardano ecosystem, with a particular focus on Project Catalyst involvement. With the successful launch and registration complete, we have achieved our first project milestone. We are now ready to proceed to the next phase: the operationalization of the working group.
