Empowering the Cardano Community in Africa: A Summary of the 14th April Catalyst Africa Town Hall

On April 14th, 2023, the Catalyst Africa town hall hosted Mercy A, the Coordination lead for Wada, who gave a presentation titled “CIP 1694: Where Are We?”. Her presentation focused on the importance of governance and the status of CIP 1694 in regard to improving the Cardano network.

During the presentation, Mercy A. discussed the key aspects of CIP 1694, including Empowerment, Inclusivity, Accountability, Participation, Sustainability, and trust. She explained how each one is critical for a successful governance system.
Additionally, she discussed the roadmap of Cardano, which outlines the network’s direction and goals for the future.

Mercy A. also discussed Project Catalyst, which provides a platform for the community to propose and vote on new initiatives. She gave an overview of the recent Community Meeting held in Colorado, centring on CIP 1694.

Attendees left the presentation with a better understanding of the current state of Cardano governance and the potential impact of CIP 1694 on the network’s future.
