Cardano Ambassador for Nigeria Joshua akpan was invited to an EOS meetup which was held on the 22nd of September 2018 in the city of Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
Hosted by EOS Blockchain representatives in Nigeria.
Which was a great and educative meetup for me personally.
There was an interesting question asked among the audience during a talkshow. “which is the best blockchain that can be adopted by Nigerians for a reliable free and fare election?” of which Mr akpan stated that cardano blockchain is possibly the best blockchain for conducting election, reason been as stated on IOHK website. “Cardano multi layer protocol performs advanced functions and has at its foundation a settlement layer that is elegantly linked to a control layer…
The control layer will be programmed to recognise identity” which would help not just in conducting free and fare election but also in Access to credit facilities, financial inclusion, prevent lost of property due to bad record keeping. Just to name a few.
Cardano is still a relatively new project.
No doubt it has the potential to truly level the playing field for Nigerians and help fight corruption.
I believe in the project and can’t wait to see it been implemented in my country Nigeria.

Would Africa choose stellar over Cardano as their solutions to payment system??
I don’t know that much about Stellar but it does seem to be a solid payment system. I think Cardano aims to offer a more comprehensive crypto currency system that solves a number of financial problems like identity, land ownership, etc. Cardano has the very ambitious goal of trying to become the core of the future financial system in underdeveloped nations in Africa, Asia, and South America. It will also try to interact with a number of other crypto currencies so people can move value seamlessly through cyberspace.
