As the year concludes and a new one begins, I would like to share some reflections on the organization of the Cardano Constitutional Convention and how it should set a benchmark for organizing future events globally.
It is crucial to emphasize that, in collaboration with the founding entities—IOG and CF—the community itself played a pivotal role in finalizing agreements, reviewing contracts, and negotiating with venues, hotels, and coordinating planned activities. This was a months-long effort, but one that proved to be both rewarding and collaborative. When the idea of hosting the event in Argentina was proposed, we embarked on a journey to assess the best and most historically significant venues. After extensive effort, we selected the University of Buenos Aires and its Law School as the main venue. We then worked collectively on the contract, positions, and negotiations. Similarly, we engaged with hotels, fostering a remarkable synergy between local expertise and a commitment to ensuring that every participant felt warmly welcomed.
In the end, over 200 people visited Argentina to celebrate what became one of the most historic events in the community’s history. We enjoyed a remarkable week filled with local experiences, enriching debates, and the vote on the constitutional draft by delegates, which received 95% approval.
While the event was undoubtedly incredible, it leaves us with a significant takeaway: for Cardano events to achieve full success, it is essential to foster synergy between the local community and the founding entities during the organization process. Only through this collaboration can we create high-caliber events with authentic local experiences that leave lasting memories for all involved.
This event is, in itself, a living example of how the future should unfold: a year-long effort to bring us all together, with genuine collaboration between the community and institutions, ensuring an event that both reflects the local essence and achieves its intended purpose.
