I disabled this option (I used -xn before, but it’s an alias), because the current node version, memory usage almost doubles with this option after a day or two and the current node version needs more memory than a few versions back… Without that option, I can keep memory usage stable for quite a while.

coutts and his team are working on a an LSM tree solution for on-chain disk storage which should destroy cardano nodes memory requirements
is scheduled for release in this quarter, hopefully it happens - pace has really picked up on github during the last month
would be brilliant to see 8gb cardano nodes again
