Hehe I’m already using a pseudo-anonymous account anyway.
Which is a healthy stance. Getting excited about such a thing without knowing what it’s about is just sensationalism.
Chill everyone, one day it will be like…

Maybe they will say who they are with the release tomorrow?
I understand the different theories put forward here for this “special announcement” and the meaning of “guardians”. It can probably mean a lot, and I would never dare to commit myself to one of these theories.
As already written above, I find the graphics very impressive. I tried to find this bird graphic with the Google image search. This doesn’t seem to be a cheap copy from anywhere. The name “Guardians” and a kind of “raised index finger” is nothing that looks like attack, destruction or accusation to me.
The biggest hope that this won’t be a negative contribution to our fellowship is because of this phrase.
Since the crypto and financial world is teeming with “expert opinions” that claim something (did you see Vitalik’s tweet yesterday that he predicts an economic crisis, simply because he has a 25% chance to be celebrated as a miracle predictor in 5 years?) it would be really very bad if something like this came up.
I would like to see something new on the table, and then everyone would form their own opinion. It could also be that it is something that the developers like very much, but the investors don’t like at all. In this case, everyone here would have to comment on his theory or evaluation whether he is interested in the practical application or the price gains.
Nah Bercino would probably have written “there is no other way” not “there is not other way.” Then again the rest of the words are good english appart from the two last paragraphs and could just be a way of disquising identitity even more or just even spelling error. I hope if they have an important message they make sure it is communicated well.
Bleh… someone should redo this one with “I am Satoshi Nakamoto”
I’d just like to say officially I’m not one of the Guardians (maybe).
maybe they are some ppl in Jap community?
That makes a lot of sense.
This is what you call ‘noise’. That is the product currently. Talking about things to be worried about with no substance as of yet. At best it’s not well thought out as a course of action; at worst it’s anti-social and a scare tactic potentially. There is no help in this communication.
This is what they do - make you worry. That’s what you pay attention to. Their actions. And whatever they say simply needs to be verified, usually it’s a smoke screen.
Well you simply can’t cuz it’s me Pacman. At night, and if I don’t get a Snickers, I’m gonna be Batman. And together we are the guardians. ![]()
Thanks for the video share. I watched it from the beginning through the period you referenced.
I see the point you’re bringing up. I think being outside this profession, makes it hard for me to evaluate the significance of that point. A programmer/engineer would know if this is routine, which is what it sounds like.
Again, it’s hard to have a correct frame of reference when you don’t know what is technically correct or not.
Why they didn’t audit the other items he mentioned should also be looked at.
I think this is what it would be like if we saw behind the scenes at a large company like Microsoft. Where they work out things to a final viable product.
Just my opinion.
Yeah I think this should have been handled internally first when it came to the audit issues as well. But for some reason this seems not to have been the case. Perhaps it is more technical in nature that CF simply did not have the correct personnel to judge this correctly and do the correct type of audits. I wish more experts in the field where available to also comment on the situation as I am certainly not qualified to judge this. But I do know some basic stuff like do not audit a project that is no longer relevant because you have a completely new and updated code. That is just a waist of resources.
But then again I also think there is more to this than only this issue and that is only an expression of an overall problem.
It would seem to me that some of the comments on this thread come with not knowing any of the history behind the issue this thread is built on.
This forum is Discourse software https://www.discourse.org/ and allows users that contribute/participate to move up in levels, the level 3 users have held many discussions without other levels having access to those threads @jonmoss @tom.kelly @maki.mukai is it possible to unlock any (1) of those threads and make them public? Mostly I would like to see the “I am conserned over friction” thread be unlocked if possible.
I support this. I have been a participate in those discussions and I think it is time they see the light of day.
I think it would help, read only users that come and go might need to see the history just so they do not leave here more confused then when they came.
It would help put things into context.
The ‘lounge’ was created to create a secure place for active and engaged users to access and to converse freely. Making those threads public goes against this idea. Anyone is free to gain access by increasing their trust level through their forum activity, which details can be found here: Trust Levels and Lounge of the Cardano Forum
Users who posted in the thread did so with the knowledge that it was in the private lounge, and not in the public forum. For now, we’d like to keep it that.
