As I had the same recurrent issue as a few people here when launching Daedalus, from the logs I saw that my node wasn’t able to reach the IOHK node. After some research I found it could be fixed by adding a few other nodes in my topology.yaml file. P2P deployment on mainnet should eliminate the need for a topology.json file, however that can be useful in the meantime.
