I’ve been following some of the committee discussions recently, and one thing that stood out to me is the gap between online conversations and actual participation in live sessions.
From my perspective, especially operating in a resource-constrained environment, joining regular calls is not always straightforward. Connectivity, time, and access all play a role. But at the same time, these are the spaces where important coordination happens, particularly around things like budgeting and ecosystem support.
So I see this moment not just as an application window, but as an opportunity to reflect on how we lower the barrier to participation, especially for contributors outside the usual circles. Governance becomes stronger when more diverse voices are not only present in discussions, but also able to participate in the processes themselves.
I may not be applying this round, but I’m definitely paying close attention and learning and I think more of us should do the same.

Yes, this should be done in a dedicated asynchronous space to increase participation.

One thing that truly needs to improve is ensuring that important meetings and announcements are shared across multiple channels such as the Cardano Forum, X, Reddit, and others. This way, everyone can access the information on time and prepare appropriately to participate.
Hopefully, for future announcements, you will receive the information early enough and be able to take part, whether by applying or voting.

At the same time, we should all continue to share thoughtful suggestions so that committees can take them into account.
