Intersect 2026 Elections: Open Forum for Candidate Presentations and Community Questions

Hello Cardano Community,

As we all know, we are currently in the voting period for the Intersect 2026 Elections. This is a crucial moment where members of the Cardano ecosystem decide who will help guide Intersect and contribute to the ecosystem’s direction over the coming year.

Given the importance of this period, it is natural for each candidate to clearly present their candidacy. While there are already X Spaces and other channels dedicated to campaign discussions, I believe there is also value in creating a space here on the Cardano Forum.

This post is intended to serve as an open and constructive space where:

  • Candidates can present themselves directly in the comments
  • Community members can read, engage, and ask specific questions
  • Everyone can make more informed and confident voting decisions

How it works

If you are a candidate, you are invited to comment on this post and include:

  • Who you are
  • The committee(s) you are applying for
  • Why you believe you are a strong fit for those committees
  • Any relevant experience, contributions, or proof of work

Example: My candidacy

My name is Olivier Mwatsimulamo, a Web3 Developer and Educator at Goma Cardano Hub, Milestone Reviewer for Project Catalyst, Advisor and Analyst within the Goma DRep group, Ambassador for Coxygen Global in the DRC, and an active contributor across X and the Cardano Forum.

For these elections, I am applying to three committees where I believe I can deliver meaningful and measurable impact:

1. Cardano Civics Committee (CCC)

My work in Cardano governance since 2021 has been rooted in education, participation, and ecosystem-building at the grassroots level.

Key contributions include:

  • Co-organizing CIP-1694 governance workshops in the DRC
  • Active participation in the DRep Pioneer Program in the DRC
  • Supporting constitutional workshops and civic education initiatives
  • Contributing to Intersect regional efforts such as WADA hubs
  • Reviewing and supporting early Intersect-funded community initiatives
  • Engaging in treasury discussions and constitutional processes
  • Serving as an advisor within the Goma DRep group

These experiences have shaped my conviction that governance must be accessible, understandable, and driven by active community participation.

2. Membership and Community Committee (MCC)

This committee is central to strengthening Intersect’s relationship with its members and ensuring that participation translates into real engagement and value.

Key contributions include:

  • Onboarding new members through local Intersect community meetups
  • Supporting the growth of over 20 new paying Intersect members
  • Driving awareness of Intersect as Community Manager at Goma Cardano Hub
  • Consistently educating and onboarding new participants through X and the Cardano Forum

Based on this experience, I am confident that my commitment will strengthen participation in Intersect, improve member engagement, and help transform membership into tangible impact within the Cardano ecosystem, aligned with the MCC’s core mission.

3. Open Source Committee (OSC)

My technical background and contributions reflect a strong alignment with open-source principles and practical blockchain development.

Key contributions include:

  • Building a local marketplace in Goma using ADA and escrow smart contracts on Cardano
  • Reviewing technical milestones for Catalyst-funded projects focused on innovation
  • Mentoring students in Haskell and blockchain development in the DRC
  • Participating in the Cardano Africa Tech Summit 2026 hackathon in Nairobi, representing my country

These experiences demonstrate my commitment to open-source development that is not only theoretical but also applied, community-driven, and impactful.

This post is not an official Intersect initiative. It is simply a community-driven effort to create more transparency and interaction between candidates and voters.

For official candidate presentations, Intersect is organizing dedicated sessions:
