Blocks don't fill themselves. Ever checked what's actually filling them?

If you’ve ever been curious (like me) which apps are driving real transaction activity on Cardano, there’s now a leaderboard for that.

The Transaction Leaderboard on cardano.org tracks onchain transactions across a growing list of projects. No opinions, no hype, just data straight from the chain.

Some names you’ll recognize. Some might surprise you. Either way, it paints a pretty clear picture of what’s actually happening on the network.

Check it out: cardano.org/apps/leaderboard

And if you’re building something that isn’t listed yet, you can get your project added. The leaderboard already covers a lot of apps, but there are definitely projects missing that should be on there.

CIP-20 is the standard for transaction messages, or ‘memos,’ on Cardano.

On the leaderboard, these are used to identify and categorize transactions that include a specific message format. If a DApp like Minswap or WingRiders uses its own unique label, the transaction is attributed directly to them. Any other (tx) messages that are not linked
to a specific project are counted under ‘unattributed’ CIP-20 messages.

You can learn more about the technical details of the standard here: CIP-20 | Transaction message/comment metadata

Great timing on this! I’ve just submitted a PR to get the GNP1 Smart Contract Quiz V1000 listed on the leaderboard. It’s a free-to-enter, knowledge-based quiz system built on Plutus smart contracts with on-chain score validation and encrypted answer submissions. Operated by the GNP1 stake pool which supports mental health charities. PR is awaiting review - looking forward to being part of the leaderboard! :folded_hands:
