Can I trade ADA for BTC and then send the BTC out using the Adalite wallet in Ledger?

I’m a newbie in Ledger as I just installed it for the first time. It took me a while to figure out that I have to use a third party wallet to use the Cardano app in Ledger. I saw there is a SELL/BUY option in the Adalite wallet. Can I convert my ADA for BTC and then send the BTC to my exchange account? Also, can I send coins other than ADA to the adalite wallet?

If u are newbie I recomend to try for the first time with small amount of coins

After u will buy your ADA don’t forget to stake for a ~5% rewards

Delegation is the process by which ada holders delegate the stake associated with their ada to a stake pool. It allows ada holders that do not have the skills or desire to run a node to participate in the network and be rewarded in proportion to the amount of stake delegated.

Perhaps it’s better to ask ledger support team. if not you can send ada to exchange and swap there in BTC

During the conversion process on exchange.adalite.io, you need to specify BTC address to which you would like to send the BTC. You wont receive them to AdaLite wallet because AdaLite doesn’t support BTC, you need some other BTC wallet (for example you can use Ledger Live for that). You can send your BTC to exchange address afterwards. Or you can directly use the BTC address assigned to you by the exchange in the conversion process and receive funds directly to the exchange address.

I just did the conversion but got this message: “Could not provide exchange for this coin pair. Please try again later.”

Why am I getting this message?

I have been think about that, but would they ask me for my state driver license or some address proofs?

I have not using VPN before, at least not intentionally. How can I set it up? Any guideline such as the program name and method would be appreciated.

Do you know about Binance.us’ application process? Eventually, they might ask me to provide some address proofs in order to gain privileges. That’s what I don’t want to see. But for now, if I can transfer all my coins out for the Chinese counterpart, that will be a good start. (What scared me the most was that I was unable to get into my account few days ago and had to reset my password. Prior to that, I tried to contact them, but an automatic email reply came in saying that they don’t serve US customers. It is hard to imagine if one got locked out of the account and cannot get any help from them.)

I don’t remember well if they required me something to prove the address (I opened an account on Binance 4 years ago) but for sure they will require a national ID card or passport in order to check your age

Passport does not tell address, so it is OK. I will do more research. It has been a ride during these few days. I still have 5 other coins to take care. Sigh~~. (But if I am able to use Binance us directly, then it will not be this tough. Once I got all these straightened out, I will learn how to receive reward using the staking and delegate system. This is totally new to me 3 years ago when I started investing in ADA.)

Ok, I am here if u need support or if u have any question…

Basicaly staking is easy, once u have ur ada in ledger then via yoroi u can delegate ur ADA.

One advice for u; first time try to not send all the amount… before this u should try with small amount (just in case, if simething goes wrong you will not loss all)

Thank you for your reply - even though it has been a long time.

So if I logged in my wallet from a state which is not supported, I would not be able to trade. But if I go to another state which is supported, would I be able to trade? When I came back to my state, which is supported, I kept getting the “Your page is not private” message” when I clicked on the Sell/Buy button. It also said that the certificate of the exchange expired. Why is that? What should I do?
